Supreme Court Bar Association elections are scheduled for May 16, 2024. On Wednesday there was a debate held between the six candidates battling it out for the presidential post. The candidates include Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal, Adish C Aggarwala, Priya Hingorani, Pradeep Kumar Rai and Advocates Tripurari Ray and Neeraj Srivastava. The voting will be held 10 am onwards on May 15 in the Supreme Court premises.

It's not a great decision tbh. Cause it shows how cut off our judiciary is from the ground. Like did the court think that before electoral bonds political parties never got any funding? It's a joke. Secondly it should have been done when the scheme was passed initially. Like they could have directed the govt then only to disclose all details and doing it now only widens the gap between the rich and govt. As now no one will trust the govt with their money and will prefer leaving the country with it. And if the problem was people getting tons of loans from public sector banks and using it for their benefit well sorry to say that's how it works worldwide except for communist regimes. And a larger economic community discussion is needed to solve this. I mean the problem is not rich having easy access to money it's always been the case but that the middle and poor class are not having access to that money even if they have some good business ideas. This should be regulated but again courts can't do nothing in this. It depends on the govt. And if the problem according to you was govt blackmailing companies to get funding well nothing is done about it by the courts so.
