Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with David Rubenstein: How does Justice Ginsburg, a lifelong trailblazer for gender equality, view the #MeToo movement? And what is the crucial role of the Supreme Court-and the rule of law-at a moment of huge political tumult for our country?
As the Supreme Court welcomes a new judge to its ranks, Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a 25-year veteran of the court, sits down for a wide-ranging discussion with Carlyle Group co-CEO and philanthropist David Rubenstein on her career and the state of the nation.
Recorded Sep 19, 2019 at 92nd Street Y.

Shameful lack of respect for an individual who has done more for our country and equality than can even be expressed. The rude individuals here have an unfortunate lack of intellect, are nasty and disrespectful. If she were your relative you would be deeply proud and would be extremely offended by these abrasive remarks. Lack of education causes these foolish ideas to fester and blemish our country. Show some respect and dignity. Stop being silly, stop criticizing those who have done wonders with their lives. Thank you. This is in response to comments . The video is great.

Deplorables are going to be deplorable. The ignorant are going to continue upon their path of ignorance and bigotry. Thankfully, those of us who are able to tolerate and understand such ignorance can try and educate some of the deplorables, but it’s an uphill struggle. Better to let them wallow in their ignorance and focus on engaging with people who are critical thinkers, grasp abstract thinking and seek fairness and justice.

@@MoldMantle Because that is their job, and how our government was designed. If she wanted to originate laws; she should have run for Congress. That's their job. But liberal judges, who legislate from the bench, create laws that no one voted for, and no executive signed. The Worst part is that there is no review mechanism. When they screw up, and there are disastrous consequences, there is no way to fix it. America has no system for handling the mentally ill EXACTLY because of such a ruling. Now the mentally ill end up in prison. Ginsburg betrayed her office, her honor, and her country.

Are you another one of these people who thinks Ginsburg is dead? Oral arguments started today at the Supreme Court. They are doing three hearings today. Justice Thomas is out sick but Ginsburg is there and is grilling the attorneys arguing before the court. She was the first one to begin asking questions. Official transcripts and audio recordings will be available in a week or so. These hearings are all open to the public. There will be I think three more tomorrow and several are scheduled for next week. The schedule along with transcripts and audio recordings of previous Oral Arguments are all available on the Supreme Court website.
