Phase 2 is absolutely haunting, there’s the mirror of Magolor’s scream from the frustrated scream into the original CROWNED to the now sad and pained scream Magolor has before the master crown takes full control of him and puppeteering him into singing for it. Then in general Ann’s voice fits perfectly with a haunting yet childish voice for the crown. Then there’s the art of Magolor crucified by heart spears, the crown full encasing him, his eyes bleeding, then the mirror shards showing Kirby representing Magolors regret. Juno you have cooked us the perfect egg dish and I thank you for that.

From beginning to end this song gripped me. This lyrical adaptation really captures how truly haunting Magolor's fate in this alternate reality was, especially his last cry for help and scream of agony before the CROWN takes full control. And that crucifixion is scary, surprising and appropriate considering Magolor's subtle biblical connections all at the same time. A lovely song through and through (for me not for Magolor). I actually have a headcanon that this very fight really IS the canon fight Kirby faced at the end of the story mode, and that this was HAL’s way to sort of better explain how Magolor ended up in Another Dimension, like with how they showed him and the crown disappearing into that portal at the end. There is more evidence to support this but regardless, I love how this song can actually kind of fit both interpretations, where you can either read this as Magolor thinking he will die here, or accepting that he will die here. I know that in canon this is supposed to be the bad end AU, etc (I'd be interested to hear what that other evidence you mentioned is though 😮), but with how he is in this video, it's much more powerful to me that he's so much more in despair than he is in the regular final battle version: that he fully believes he's going to die and has accepted that fact (and suffers more lmao), only to end up being given that second chance that he never expected to have, making him all the more determined to not let it go to waste. Idk it's just more touching that way to me, thinking that he goes up from here :' ) but of course it's equally great as an actual tragic end for him as well, like you said 🙏 both are powerful in different ways

Sweet Ancients, Ann absolutely ate up her role as the Master Crown! I absolutely love how although Magolor Soul’s voice become monotone and dead once his body gets taken over, the voice of the Crown allows itself to be much more emotional and expressive, hitting high-notes that the shell that was once Magolor doesn’t. If there was ever any doubt as to who is the master and who is the puppet… they’re long gone now.

magolor has, in his entire half of the song, accepted he is going to die. he knows kirby cannot save him. he does not ask kirby to save him or help him, but to kill him before the crown can hurt anyone else. EXCEPT WHEN THE CROWN TAKES HIM OVER ENTIRELY. that pained "Help me... Kirby... Help!" followed by that _gut wrenching_ scream is making me cry. i want to know what's going through his head here. he knows kirby _can't_ help him, in the sense of freeing him. whatever's happening is obviously painful. is he in such a degree of pain that he said those words before what was left of his mind could catch up to his mouth? is he asking for the same things as before (his own demise?) is "help" in this sense a way of conveying that he's losing control entirely? its so good and interesting im having a lot of trouble articulating what it makes me feel. also the sheer panic and regret in "what have i done? oh, ancients, what have i done?" is tearing me apart.

I already mentioned this on the magolor collection, but i love how lyrics from CROWNED are changed from magolor asking for forgiveness to him asking for kirby to finish him for the universe’s sake. Hearing the master crown torment magolor was unexpected but amazing and magolor telling kirby to “dream for him theme parks and games” is a heartbreaking reference to merry magoland. Amazing work.

Gosh i don't even know where to begin on this, the lyrics calling back to the original C-R-O-W-N-E-D, the emotion in Magolor's voice, the LACK of emotion in his husk while the crown goes all out, his pain and regretful tones when he gets that little bit of willpower back, him saying he might meet Kirby again in the sky, and the ART, really doubling down on Magolor's ties to christianity, and it's so GOOD, and the removal of the eyes from Magolor Soul is such a small detail in the game but it's so well put into the art, heart spears crucifying Magolor, the master crown becoming a makeshift crown of thorns, the shattered glass with Kirby, all the dark matter eyes in the background, every part of this masterpiece has so much effort and care put into it, i don't think "amazing job" even begins to state how great this is, you've outdone yourself, time and time again you outdo yourself, i'm incredibly excited to see what you end up making after this

This is some good advanced darkness. Between the lyrics, Magolor completely succumbing to the Master Crown and even the crown itself singing, this has to be one of your best covers yet. Magolor at the end knew his time was up and basically accepted his fate. Though his happy ending was forsaken, he trusts Kirby enough to save the universe from his fallen self. I know I almost got emotional listening to this. Moral of the story: Stay away from magical crowns or other related artifacts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, after all.
