How you got off of that train under your own power, let alone got lunch and figured out what trains to take next is a wonder to me - I'd be unconscious after that much sake, even with food! All hail STJ's abundant alcohol dehydrogenase!

A Sake train!! What a wonderful idea. I have only had sake once... it was yummy and warm. Beautiful scenery and a "tipsy" STJ, now that is a vacation. Miso ice cream HAS to be better than onion ice cream. Thank you again for sharing such a unique experience. I hope the next video isn't you in an alcohol rehab situation.

Here I am riding on the Iiyama line from Echigo-Kawaguchi to get to this train in Tokamachi. If you want to use the JR rail pass to get there it takes a few more steps. But I am able to see some parts of Japan that many tourists don’t so I’m thankful for that. And thankful to STJ to showing me so many wonderful things in Japan.

May I make a suggestion? I understand Japan is very vegetarian-friendly! Could you make some videos focusing on an area’s best vegetarian/vegan specialties, and on the places serving those specialties? And then put those videos in a dedicated “Vegetarian/Vegan Japan” playlist? I’ll be in Japan for a few months for the 2025 Osaka World’s Fair, and I’d love a vegetarian guide to Japan … as I’m sure would others!! 🌱❤️🇯🇵

STJ at it again, this time with the sake train adventure. I don't think I could have managed it (yeah, I'm a lightweight when it comes to booze), but STJ did the sake thing and did it well. 😀 I've never had sake with salt, and I was curious about how you incorporated the salt. I could only think of a tequila shot (yes, the salt). But you showed how little salt to add, enhancing the taste of the sake. I'd love to try it. Oh, besides the sake - that scenery - gorgeous!!! Thanks STJ! p.s. I just had to edit my comment because "The toilet was not special" was unexpected and I may have laughed more than I should have. 🤣

tips of the day : IF the salmon try to get off the plate to run to the ocean OR IF the gelato wiil go to the mountain ... you're drunk ! xD 😁 are they many "specials trains" like this in Japan (food, beverage, both or other type)? in my country (Belgium) it's not usual... Only for exceptionnals trains like "Orient Express" (during a 2 or 3 days journey [sleeper train] and it's very very expensive to travel with it)
