Shift the focus from the mind to the feeling/experiencing of the moment and existing/existence. Ignore thought...don't bother to manipulate or pay attention to thought or even watch thought. Do not fight or battle the mind. Just be 100% devoted to the feeling/experiencing of the moment and existing/existence...deeply and fully aware...and let the wheel of thought/mind slow and stop on its own by leaving it alone.

Feelings are thoughts, so that is incorrect. Experience is not to look for either. Silence awereness is better. Look up Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Being quiet mentally is the most difficult job in the world. That's 90% of the battle won! Mind naturally tends to get attracted towards external sense objects all the time. However, if we listen to the advice of those sages who have done this themselves and practice tirelessly with earnestness then I believe it can be done.

Nice video. One suggestion. Overthinking is the biggest problem today. Be careful what you feed your mind. Feed trash and trash will come out. Avoid comparing yourself with others, avoid storing bottled up emotions, reduce watching negative social media-fake news channels and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. Thoughts keep changing. Your breath is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress and overthinking. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. You can sit straight on a chair, eyes closed but avoid deep breathing. If distracted bring focus back on the breath. Never meditate with expectations. Make it a lifetime habit to observe your breath before sleep, when travelling, when reading, at the workplace, in the park etc, Counting backwards slowly from 50 to 0 also reduces overthinking. I want to share an insight. Someone that has started to hear these pointers can feel discouraged by the idea of just "watching things come and go" because it evokes an image of aloofness and boredom in the mind but ultimately, this is just a description, and the image it evokes in the mind is not the truth of it.

We can watch a movie on a TV screen and yet are we aloof? We are just watching in a detached manner whilst watching the mind.silent observation. And this way the mind will eventually become more still.

@@Marcus-zu6fe if you watch a dance floor full of happy people jumping around and you're prompted to sit and watch them, that's certainly not appealing. Realize that it's an illusion and there is no problem there. Maharaj himself said that self realization is not necessary as long as one knows This is an illusion.
