SUPRISING Results While Fishing The BERKLEY Powerbait GILLY!!! (Unbiased Review/First Impressions)

You guys have been asking me to film a video on these baits for a while, so I took a couple days and fished with the Berkley Powerbait Gillys to give y’all my honest thoughts and opinions. While I wasn’t sold on these things at first, the results speak for themselves, and I think I’ll at least have a couple packs in the arsenal from here on out. I have some in pumpkinseed and I like the sideways rigging. Haven’t thrown it a ton but probably try it again soon.

Definitely a cool presentation! Most likely an upsized fluke presentation in the future for me, might add a little lead wire to the hook for just a touch more weight. Tight lines homie, catch a big for me 👊🏾

It’s been tough taking the yak out recently just because of the high winds, out here we average 15-20 mph sustained winds from March-early may. Don’t worry though, got a bunch more kayak content coming soon 🤙🏾

Great that you're humble 😂 Even condensing your fishing experience shows you hook up when you've slowed down ... like the backlash, or you saw one 😂 ( if you see them they see you) I enjoyed watching, I would have been more entertained if you had ran over the spinning rod when you left 😮😂 I personally hate them😮😊

Hahahaha! I’m not the biggest fan of spinning rods either but they have their place in my arsenal, at least for the moment. Appreciate the support dude! I try my best to show the reality of my fishing trips; they don’t always go to plan, but you do what you can to get em to bite! Tight lines 🤙🏾

Absolutely dude, they’re not for everyone. Like I said I’ll probably keep a pack of the bigger size around for if I’m trying to upsize my bite while on a good weightless fluke/senko bite, but definitely wouldn’t be what I reach for first. Just something to maybe keep in the back of your mind ya know?

I noticed you had the big one rigged dead center. There’s a diagonal line molded in the side of the bait the hook should line up with to make it set upright better. It buts the bend of the hook lower towards the belly thereby keeling the bait. I’d have tried one on those Scrounger heads you had in your tackle box in deeper water. Nobody mentions using a scrounger with them. Those small ones would kick butt in my pond. I bet a weightless fished like a frog over sparse mats would work good. That’s good info on the printed Gilly’s. I didn’t know they were denser plastic. Thanks for the review.

I’ll have to watch that video, and try on a scrounger if I can ever find some deeper water. I think they’ll be an upsized fluke presentation for me, but I’ll be trying some other options as well next time I take it out. Glad I could give you a little nugget of info my dude! Tight lines 😭
