Got my Supro Amulet 1/5/15w 1x12 Celestion Creamback this week. Playing A/B/Y with my Laney L5T-112. Very happy with the Supro and the two amps compliment and contrast each other well.

Hey Jack! I finally purchased my own Deluxe Reverb and I've been jamming on it all day today. One thing you are definitely right about is plugging into the low gain channel. That definitely seems to be where the most balanced tone is.

Easily the BEST video on this amp. Great job! I played this amp for the first time at the Sweetwater GuitarFest this past Saturday and was truly blown away. Going over today to put it through its paces in an iso room. Woohoo! Living 10 minutes from Sweetwater is VERY expensive. HAHA!

Interesting.. I’ve studied that battle, and it turns out it was completely bass-less and the cannonballs used were all pretty tin-y so mainly just injured the ears of those it impacted. The feedback, according to witnesses was terrible, but views get distortion over the years so maybe it was just a bad connection with the generals trying to over drive the troops.

I was transferred to the battle of Hot Rod Deville. I lost the hearing rather permanently in my left ear from the deafening blast of the attempted “break up”. Some soldiers I fought side by side with didn’t make it at all….

Personally I prefer the Amulet - I like the tonality and speaker better, and it’s lighter. Plus the built in attenuation sounds more natural than the Royale’s master volume

how would you say the Amulet tone differs from the Princeton's? it almost seems a bit British-y (or maybe Supros make me think of Jimmy Page).

Nothing to do with a Princeton. This amp is midrange land, the Fender is scoop city.. 😅

I would agree there - Supro's in general have way more mid range and warm bass response than Fenders. They still have that general American tone and responsiveness, but none of the scoop.

As a former owner of a Saturn Reverb, I can tell you that the Supros have the reputation (justified on the SR) of being pretty bassy and boomy.

Honestly both are good for it - Id say this one may get you closer to Jimmy Page's studio tone though.

I listened to this with a good set of headphones and was hearing an annoying sound coming out of the left side of the mix full when it was full out at 15w. Do you know what that was?

Sorry to say but after having 2 Amulets, 10 inch version, that failed on me. Power volume was getting completely crazy one day from another, super loud one day with a horrible awful midrange sound, and lower volume the next with a very really nice scooped sound? Crackling noises and other strange things going on. OK if the first one was defective, but the second did the same thing.. And I've discussed with an other owner who had the same problem. So crappy power tube, maybe? Ok but to reach and change the power tube, you gotta dismantle the whole amp, so bye bye the warranty.. Sorry but never again Supro

That's a bummer. I feel your pain. I went through 2 of the limited edition Princeton '65 reissues. Both failed in the first few days after 15 to 20 minutes at full volume. I was hoping the Supro's were made better and would be a viable alternative.

For what it's worth if I hear Princeton out of context I'll think of The Battle Of Princeton before I think of the Fender Princeton. But I'm that one guy that goes to Dorchester Heights to hang out for a couple hours because it's cool to be at the place where the Americans drove the British out of New England.

They seem to have kept the reverb tank that was on the Saturn at the time. It does have really weird "ghostly" harmonics that became unpleasant passed 10 o'clock on the reverb knob...

Hello, what about the hum? Got a custom 68 deluxe reverb which make me sick about hiss and hum. So this little one is it humming or hissing? For home playing and studio recording.

A common reason for hum and hiss on these is simply that the pots are not screwed properly. There are a few KZbin videos about that, take a look and it might change your life.

FWIW. Lyle at Psionic Audio has a very poor opinion of modern Supra’s, from a techs perspective.

Lyle at Psionic most often does not think much of any modern amp in general. He seems to mostly favor older fender amps, at least to work on. Many of these are handwired in which you would pay a premium for now a days. I had a newer Fender Blues Jr. recently which was always having issues and got rid of it as to much trouble to fix everything. The cost of manufacturing high quality component tube amps is expensive so manufactures tend to cut corners on the circuit boards and other components. Building a tube driven amp is not the same as a solid state one.

@@fixedgear37 That maybe true, but many modern tube amps are not built on high quality components to cut costs. This is especially true of the actual tube sockets and connectors to the circuit board. The best builds from Fender seem to be the 'hand wired' units and are assembled supposedly at their Corona, CA facility. Most others are built in Mexico.

Amp sound is good, reverb really sucks, it has a strange harmonic in the trail, not very natural sounding.
