This is mostly in chronological order (as in seasons 1-8 but there are flashbacks and the scenes aren't really in the exact order...). I tried to get the most important aspects of the show in here. Been wanting to vid this song for a while:)

How I met your mother will always and forever be my favorite TV show. Nothing else has been able to lift me so high. I've been depressed for just about as long as I can remember; I was diagnosed at 6. I found this show a little under 8 months ago and it inspired me to become who I want to be and to fuck up and enjoy my life so much more than I did. My depression is completely gone, and I have nothing but words of thanks for everyone who made this show that put me through laughter and happy moments and through depressing ones and made me into a better person. I love this show and it's so much more personal to me than anyone will ever get just from reading these words.

This show gave me a new perspective on life...I wish more people like Ted and Tracy would exist. This is my all time favorite show..I really connected with the characters. I was team Ted and Robin but seeing everything Barney was doing made it hard to root for Ted. Mixed feelings about the ending but I'm 110% that no one really knows what a real ending for this show would have been.

who else bawled their eyes out at all the highlights in those seasons? when Lily left Marshall, when Ted had to let Robin go, when Robin chose Kevin over Barney, when Marshall's dad died, when Robin found out that she couldn't have kids, when we found out that Tracy had died, when Ted was going to leave NY because he couldn't handle Barney & Robin getting married, when Robin basically left the gang, when Barney had that fight with his dad ("because if you were going to be some lame suburban dad, why couldn't you have been that for me?"), the episode "Last Words" (Marvin's funeral), when Ted said he didn't want to be friends with Barney anymore, when Ted found out that Barney had proposed to Robin, or basically any bittersweet moment in the gang?

This is like scrubs. The whole show shows us serious moments in all of our lifes and still is funny. No other show could do it like these two for me. Scrubs and How I Met Your Mother for ever :)

I don't usually get goose bumps.. not even in the winter, when I wear only a T-shirt (I'm like, immune to cold weather, and I live in Norway).. but when watching HIMYM, and a highlight comes up in an episode, weather it's Tracy's scenes in the ends of seasons 7 and 8, Robin's moving out from Ted's apartment, Marshall's finding out about his dad's heart attack, Lily deciding that it's time to have a baby, or Barney crying over the fact that his father chose not to be his "lame suburban dad". I always got goose bumps, but even then they were minimal. I could only feel the rush, but the bumps weren't visible. When I saw this video, I actually saw the goose bumps, because you got some of the strongest scenes into one video, so I got rush after rush. What I'm trying to say is; thank you for this amazing video! You did an awesome job. Also, thank you for introducing me to such an incredibly awesome song! I don't usually like, nor dislike a video on KZbin, but this video deserves a like. Sorry for the length of the comment.. it kinda got out of hands there. Anyway.. thanks a lot!

In 2011 I lost my father at 17 years old.. And like Marshall it tore me down! I had the closest bunch of best friends, but after losing my dad I slowly faded away from life, becoming like a ghost! Today is April 8th, 2020. Covid-19 has put almost everyone in the world in lockdown and killed thousands. For the 7th time i'm rewatching How I Met Your Mother, not just a simple TV show, but a compilation of life lessons that have been truly accurate and meaningful to me. When this show was over in 2014, i was 13. Now, 6 years later, i'm 19 years old and still learning from this. This show has been so much adequate in my life, it has been a part of me, in the lightest and darkest days of my life. Right now, with all the TV shows that are on, nothing will compare to this masterpiece, not even. HIMYM shows the reality of life, that's i keep coming back to it.

I miss everything about this show. I feel that in some way it transformed my life completely. I know that's it's just a TV show and the characters are all actors,but they felt larger than life to me. This show has helped me through so much. It helped me when I was suffering from depression and all I could do was lying in bed and watching HIMYM was the only thing that cheered me up. It helped me when I went through a bad breakup and I would watch and rewatch season 2, when Lily and Marshall broke up. It helped me when I started a new relationship and I was having doubts about my new boyfriend. It helped me when I had to move abroad and had no idea what would happen with my new relationship.
