Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala said: اِنَّاۤ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ قُرْءٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ "Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand." (QS. Yusuf 12: Verse 2) Very Good Explanation. All Agreed Upon.

Yes, very true. We women are mentally tortured by our in - laws. Mother - in law, brother - in law and sister - in law. This Surah has always been my favourite. Now, I don't feel hurt by those who hate me because I am an English teacher and a house wife.

Prophets had 6 children with Khadijah (and 1 with Mariah). First son (Qaasim) died before Islam, but when son Abdullah died aged around 18M age, the Quraysh celebrated that the Prophet would have no one to continue his legacy. It was at this time that Allah revealed Surah Al-Kauthar. In one hadith, Prophet said that this Surah was more precious to him than the entire world. Look how Prophet loved it for its meaning, while we love it for its brevity. On Quraysh disbeliever stated that the Prophet had been cut off with the loss of his son. Allah gave Prophet the Kauthar. 15:57 Ataa (to give) is a verb that is given due to the generosity of the giver, and to honour the recipient. 17:02 Al kauthar is not defined in the Quran. Its meaning is in the hadith 17:07 Al Kauthar is the main river in Jannah. Linguistically it comes from the word plentiful as it never runs out. It is sweeter than honey, whiter than milk, colder than ice. Its banks are like pearls (not muddy!) and all the people of Jannah will drink from it. Since it is gifted to the Prophet, when we drink from it it is from kindness and love of Prophet to allow us to. 20:11 Allah says because He has given Kauthar, to do good deeds, a reminder that Jannah is a gift from his Mercy, and not earned through deeds, but we should do the deeds in thankfulness to Allah. 23:11 Wanhar refers to sacrifice of an camal (dhabihah is for jugular vein for cow/sheep, nahara is for the camal). Wanhar was chosen as camals are more expensive. 24:55 The Prophet didnt even have a camal. He only brought his camal 1 day prior to Hijrah. So why is Allah telling him to sacrifice a plurality of camals? To show the Prophet that he will in future have a more secure and stable future. 29:52 There are other more common words for hate in Arabic. Shana refers to a irrational pathological hatred of someone. 32:30 Abtar was a hyper form of the less intense botira that the hating disbeliever used. Ironically, the haters sons accepted Islam, so he was indeed cut off both in this world and the hereafter.

Not to shock you but last 48 Surahs are in chronological order. This Surah was revealed at the end of Meccan period as it is the Quran. Surah ikhlas is the last Surah revealed in Mecca. I am not a Masters student. I am a junior student in religion.

The word “kothar “ here is referred for Kaaba. It’s actually a fountain in paradise. Because in the next line God talks about salaat and nahr. These two worships are combined at hajj. We can understand the third verse in the light of the first two verses. We don’t need seerah to understand Quran which has come down thru weak method.
