I know sadl is wrong and Qabd is correct And anyways maalik brings an athar of one of the people who narrated to him and he mentions it as something mandatory Anyways the issue is deeper than that. Sheikh hassan kettani explained why Qabd (the connecting of hands) is the sunnah and sadl(putting them on the sides) is wrong.

There are narrations that the Sahaba would pray with their hands to their sides, and that Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) prayed that way. That’s why I wanted to know just to clarify. Tone it down a notch.

The recitation is completely fine, it is Khalaf an Hamza but leaving the hands on the side is wrong. Edit: I was wrong, there is credence to the opinion of leaving the hands on the sides. The evidence for it is there and seems valid. (I am not a scholar however)

"Imam Malik’s View Concerning Sadl and Qabd 1. The dislike of qabd in the fard and its permissibility in the nafl if one is standing for a long time in order to make it easier on him. (i.e. a rukhsa) This is the opinion narrated by Ibn al-Qasim in al-Mudawanna (1:74) and in al-Tamheed (20:75) al-Layth as-Sa’d is reported to have said: The laying of the hands if prayer is preferred, unless he is standing for an extended period and becomes tired, then there is no problem (la ba’as) in putting the right hand over the left. "

@@NK-vd8xi concerning the report about holding one hand with the other in fard and naafil prayers, that this is the more correct meaning, because people were commanded to do this during the earliest generations (al-Qawaaneen, 65) If a person does this with the intention of following the Sunnah, or with no specific intention,this is fine, but if his intention is to lean on his hands or find a more comfortable position by putting one hand on top of the other, then this is makrooh. Because the evidence is stronger when it comes to folding of the hands Everything else I’ve read *for* Sadl is an pre-assumption An example is the hadith of Abu Humaid al-Sa’idi, where the assume that a detail that isn’t mentioned is instead automatically the root which is to stand with hands to the side? also what is with the name calling?

@@Mohamed--Aden there's no strong or mutawatir hadith where the Prophet pbuh tells us to put one hand over the other. Even in Bukhari, the description of salah when listed does not include this.
