I recently purchase the SCAL5 from your site. I am looking forward to more training videos from you as you have an easy to follow way of showing things. Thank you for all that you and your amazing group do for us.

Thanks for the tips, Leo! One idea I found in Contour that helps a little when you have a lot to delete is to “hide it all” then simply click on the items you need. That way you don’t have to mess with clicking on each individual item. Hope that helps some!

Well Leo I never really understood the conture feature however with your video I am finally getting it and now I can see all the ways I could have used it but just didn't know what it did! I got the sure cuts a lot 5 thanks to a friend but it doesn't seem as easy as it looked in the video. I wanted to remove a background from a logo and separate into layers still haven't figured out how? Hoping to see more videos on how to use this program too!

Great video Leo. I hope solid score lines are included in all files eventually. With the maker, I’d rather not do dash cut anymore. Depending on the project of course. I really enjoy DS for the most part but I’m now seeing better ways. I may have to buy into it. Definitely a time saver. The eraser blows my mind. Btw, those DS errors happen more times than I care to remember.

Ya those errors keep happening to me a lot. Can we just use Sure Cuts a Lot without uploading to design space?

Good job. I hate CDS and I have the maker. But I use SCAL5 and SSBE for my crafting. Love seeing your videos because you are so thorough in presenting them. Thanks Leo.

I like CDS as I am technically challenged and find it is clear and logical for me. I love the idea of scal 5 but to me it looks like it’d be complicated for me as I’d need to learn whereas DS for me is obvious in what things are called and what they do. I cannot fathom why CDS doesn’t do things such as shadow though 😳 maybe I need to binge a few more of these great videos 😄 thanks for taking the time Leo to produce great tutorials

I see this video was made several years ago. I know cricket design space has had many upgrades since then. I’m curious what the comparison would be today?

I am a very frustrated UK ScanNcut user. Thanks for this video. I wasn't sure it would be a good investment but now I know I need this badly. The choice of 12 x 12 pattern paper is very limited.

I am thinking the very same thing after 18 months of frustration using Canvas the pleasure of papercrafting is getting tarnished. Think I will suggest SCAL 5 for a Mothers Day present this year.

I quite like Canvas but I've just bought SCAL and have used it already to get a file to fit on A4 paper. :-)

Hi Leo, we can get 12" x12" paper quite easily in the UK from some of our large stores and order it over the internet. Our hobby shops don't sell it as individual sheets - I don't know if it is available in the USA to purchase separately. I do feel frustrated having to purchase packs of colours, half of which I don't want and won't use. It would be great to walk into a store and select a bundle of colours that I do want. I like blues a lot and the choice of blue variations is very limited. Obviously A4 is cheaper and widely available in all stationary outlets. Also, we can get A3 paper which can be trimmed to fit 12" x 12", usually in cheap and cheerful school colours - not specialist. I don't know about Cricut, but Brother make 12" x 24" cutting mats, that also take A3 paper. I did find Canvas Workspace very basic when I first started to use it. I missed not having layers to work in (which are available on the app/downloadable version). The layers on that irritate the heck out of me as every single shape is placed on a new layer as soon as you create it, making far too many layers at the end of a complex design project. I would prefer to be able to make a layer and label it according to my needs not have to colour code every item I draw. The main selling point of purchasing a Brother machine over Cricut, is that Canvas is free to use and new free patterns are loaded each month without having to pay any additional subscriptions or fees for online use. I have found ways of creating some quite complex designs on canvas, but the software does let me down as the more nodes there are, the slower the program becomes. Not having separate layers (as such) for scoring and cutting is also time consuming. I often have to check the design to make sure that my score lines are drawing only lines and cutting lines are cutting lines only. If you make modifications to a grouped design, you can easily find that you have accidentally altered your cutting and drawing lines to being cutting lines or cutting and drawing lines combined. So you have to ungroup everything and check each shape, which can take hours to modify a simple shape. I've taken a look at SCAL and it doesn't have as wide a range of basic shapes as Canvas Workspace. I would like an egg shape for example. I don't know how to create that on SCAL, without perhaps importing a jpeg and tracing around it. Perhaps I could import it from Canvas? I like to create my own designs from my own drawings - could you advise me if SCAL is good for that, or would I be better with an illustrator program like inkspace? I have created drawings on Canvas, but they literally take hours if not a couple of days. So in that, I agree the free software tools are too basic. I love the array features and ability to place text around a shape on SCAL, which are far faster and easier than placing text by eye and spacing it one letter at a time. I like the bridge feature too! I may be tempted to purchase a copy! Thank you for your great informative video.

I recently purchased SCAL 5 through your website and I am wondering if I will be able to utilize it. What is the benefit of having SCAL 5 for Cricut users?

Hi Leo, I just purchased this software on your recommendation!!! I want to do a print and cut image larger than cricut will allow. I'm doing this for my grandsons wall in his bedroom. I want to slice the images up in this program so I can save them and print them out on my large format printer. I can hand cut them because after slicing it will be easy. Can you please help me with this!!!! I'm desperate!!! Thank you!!!

Hi Leo, I have SCAL4, I have no idea why but I was able to take the image of a Cow and using the eraser remove the bottom cut line of the hooves so that I could make it pop-up within a card when folded. I tried to do the same thing with a Fish image and the eraser tool won’t erase...it shifts the line around instead of removing it? Hope I’m being clear with describing my problem. I have NO IDEA what I did differently with the Cow. I have tried many different files for the Fish (svg, jpg, png) nothing works. TIA for your help, if you can turn my lightswitch about this back on LOL

I just bought Sure Cuts A Lot 5 to use with my Cricut maker. Did I make a mistake? I can't figure out how to save as an svg.

Do you have a fix for viewing svg file thumbnails on win 10? Something happened and it no longer works. Time for a Mac.
