Weapons I like to use: 1: hand crossbow. Great early game weapon (ignores armor, and the poison is a one-shot, even if delayed), absolute monster in the mid to late game. You want to give it to someone who has perks that increase crit chance, ESPECIALLY crit runes. With crit runes you keep your mana at 0%, and the reward is 40% crit chance. Along with that you get crit upgrades on lvl up and crit gear until you get 100% crit and a lot of crit dmg, and you'll one-shot every small enemy with a single hit of your primary attack (you'll also want stuff like damage and isolation if you want to deal with armored enemies because crit dmg happens after armor in the calculation, so if your dmg is 50 and the armor is 50, you'll deal 0 dmg multiplied by crit which is still 0). On top of that, if you can get multi-hit upgrades (there's a hat, a body armor that you can unlock, a hand crossbow that you can also unlock), you can have a character that pretty much solos the map. Oh, and don't forget that you need enough accuracy to hit your enemies at range. If you have unlocked omen of many hand crossbows, you can make the process of getting multi-hit crossbows a lot faster by equipping it and building bowyers. Very high chance on hand crossbows this way, meaning a good chance on getting the right type. 2: Druid staff. Give it to a character that has contagion, also preferably the perk that allows for diagonal propagation on propagation spells. It clears waves of enemies for extremely cheap, but you do need some space to use this weapon effectively, meaning you need to repel the mist consistently. Having a hand crossbow on your second slot is nice, it gives you a way to spread poison without spending mana, also it helps you deal with big elites since it locks them in place. The best most efficient way to spend mana. 3, 4, 5: Canon, great axe, gauntlet: Great weapons to have if you have the specialist perk (only 1 weapon set but +50% dmg). Benefit from crit runes a lot also since the manaless attacks are pretty strong. With the gauntlet, you want some propagation damage, and with both the canon and the gauntlet, you need a fair bit of accuracy because they are inaccurate. 6: 2-handed shield: With the 2-handed shield you're trying to get your block very high and use spiky counter (retaliatory dmg that scales with block), make your enemies kill themselves by trying and failing to damage you. Be careful of the explodey zombies tho, they'll kill you no matter what your block is. 7, 8, 9: Crossbow / rifle / 1H hammer: Acceptable weapons for the early/mid-game, they deal good damage without spending mana while allowing you to stay safe at range (not the hammer tho). They also benefit a lot from crit runes. 10, 11, 12: 2-handed sword, power staff, tome: What I call the mana spenders, They have bad manaless attacks, but good attacks if you intend to spend mana. The sword charge is great for getting in range and it has good damage and AoE, sword blast is very strong, the staff has flamethrower, and then scorching wave that it combos with the debuff from primary attack (because it has a huge opportunism modifier), and the chain lightning/fireballs from the tome are great ways to deal a lot of AoE damage. 13: scepter: I like the off-hand version, you can get one big hit every turn with momentum, potentially one-hit an elite if you crit Everything else I never pick, tho I might have missed some good weapons during my playthrough. I don't wanna brag or anything, but I had a very easy time with the game (on the maximum armageddon level I could pick for every map), so my list is probably pretty good.

Since you asked. My few cents on weapons (no DLC) i had great build with any weapon, it doesnt really matter what you use, it just needs to synergise with your build. Nonethenless, there are some weapons i consider good without any condition. 1. Druid staff (yeaa .. aoe poison + slow is broken) 2. 1Handcrossbow (single target poison + slow, also insane when you get multihit going, so even lategame viable) 3. 1H Hammer/ Dagger ( just great utility, low cost abilites, only 1 slot usage) 4. Rifle ( cant dodge the shots, so its just useful per default, but in my experience longbow outdpses rifle with bunch of acc) 5. 1H wand (insane support weapon, also interesting usage for 1hit builds with momentum) when you get some stats and skill range, you can usualy swap to 2H weapons or keep 1H + offtank with nice stats

Man things went downhill real quick on the last night! I forgot how much of a difficulty jump Lakeburg was after the first map
