All of the HK Gmbh firearms showcased in this video have ceased to be made or imported into the USA for civilian sales. The rifles/carbines were banned from US importation due to federal legislation in 1989. The video was available for purchasers on VHS tape through HK USA.

My father carried a H&K 33 during his assignment in Brazilian Air Force in the 1970's. I carried two models of H&K pistols in police work: a VP-70 Z and a P7 M13. All are excellent weapons. Maybe the VP-70 Z can be considered a misunderstood weapons. Many people hates its heavy and long trigger, but the concept works very well under combat stress.

@@hellcatdave1 On a G3 you need a spacer for the butstock because it's too short and the receiver Will hit you on the cheeck. Also you can 't get a decent trigger for a G3. I still find the AR10 has less recoil plus there is the maintenance factor with the G3 where you have to monitor the bolt gap and replace rollers and locking pieces on time.

ratscoot You’d be surprised how much the bolt gap(funky headspace) specs of .02”-.020” affects recoil from a particular 91 to another. On the low end recoil becomes insane because it’s barely retarded blowback.

Historically the Portuguese Army loved this rifle in their battles in Africa during the 1960s and early 70s. The weird part is many of the soldiers hardly cleaned them before going into combat unless they had an NCO or Officer would kick the soldiers in the ass to clean them. Amazingly their G3A2-3 rifles will fire during combat. The El Salvadorians used this rifle with the same result from the Portuguese in the 1980s. The reason the El Salvadorians stopped using this rifle was it was too much gun with a 7.62mm NATO which was bigger and heavier and the US Military were giving them free M16A1s from their days in Vietnam. I still love shooting my PTR-91 Clone and imagine the poor guys having to shoot and move with this in combat. It is a heavy battle rifle.

The new SP5 was a bucket list gun for me! When they announced it at 2020 SHOT show, I started working extra shifts. But I have one as of May 2020 And don’t regret buying it one bit. Lol just Holding it makes me happy! Put in a ATF Form 1/ $200 tax so I can use the regular HK buttstocks ( short barrel Rifle) All the extras for it isn’t cheap either lol I guess if I find a Bennelli/HK M1 Super 90 12 ga, I will more less have all the HK’s I would have loved to have back in 1987/88 when I went to HK classes.
