I found the Penn Battle II rods on EBay. And purchased the Penn Battle II 4000 and the Daiwa BG 3000 for my inshore rods. Now I’m going to start on the longer surf rods and I like the Penn Battle II 5000 reels. I want to thank you for all of your knowledge, and helping me get my gear setup. It’s been more than 37 years since I’ve been fishing on the beach here.

I absolutely LOVE you're vids man! I also love how you haven't hid your faith. I saw a vid the other day where you were talking about praying for victims of the tornadoes. That's very rare for people who have recreational type channels. God bless you AND your family. Please keep your vids coming as I live in Ohio and only get to go to the Florida pan handle once a year and I've learned A LOT from you, yak motley, anglerup with Brant. I am hoping sometime soon my wife and I can move to the panhandle and fish every day off of work and maybe meet up with ya there or orange beach or something.

Good stuff... My dad and I love our Battle and Fierce combos for almost every situation. They’re perfect for most freshwater fishing in the Midwest, then function great when we take them to Florida and pitch them from the surf. We’re still using the first generation Penn Battle combo, but hear nothing but good things about the Battle II.

Hey bama this might be a little lengthy but I want to say that you are my favorite fishing video KZbinr to watch however I have not been watching very many videos as of late due to I'm in running a construction business that is very hard to have reliable workers right now and other contractors have been backing up which I will blame on the government giving out all this free money but I know there's more to it than just that but anyway that's my excuse on that but I simply have not had a lot of free time to sit down and watch. I leave my house before the sun comes up and I get home after IT sets that goes on 7 days a week. I have only been able to go fishing twice in the past 3 months that sucks. I will make sure to make some time for you and the other guys that I watch I do not want you guys to go away I really appreciate you taking the time to speak with us thanks.

Terrific video and excellent video as usual. Glad I found you sometime back and subscribed. Question: I see several surf casting videos suggesting longer rods (12' to 13') with larger reels. Are they simply not necessary or do you just not see the need for them? Thanks
@BamaBeachBum
@BamaBeachBum 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s all about personal preference. Also, it depends on the area you fish as to what is necessary. Some beaches in other states may require a longer rod in order to cast further to find fish. Along the Alabama Gulf Coast, most days you can catch fish casting a bass rod. There are very few situations where you would need a cast more than 100 yards.

I never tried this years new powerpro though, maybe if people like it I'll try it in a few years. J-braid 30 lbs test is equal to powerpro 6 lbs test as far as knot strength, I've never had many knots fail but that shitty line cost me a few lures, at least $50 before I tossed it in the garbage a week after I bought it, I fished 17-20 lbs mono for a year after that it left such a bad taste in my mouth and the mono was 1000X better.
