You’re information is by far the best that I have seen. It’s professional, no extra filler, and inspires me to go out to different beaches and try different techniques. Thank you for your content and willingness to pass on knowledge.

Hi IIlias. I'm happy to see you get the spirit of my videos. I try to get people to understand that it's not my way or the highway, it's just the way I do things, but that you should try things in your area also based on what you learn from my videos. And when you have success, it feels good. Fishing is a life long process that should always be fun. Be well and stay safe.

Unfortunately, was out of commission again for a while, so for now I'm just trying to get caught up on responding to everyone and trying to finish up on some new content and other stuff. Thanks for hanging in there with me and I'll get this thing going again.

I really like your videos. I was hoping for more In depth discussion about the rigs you use. The benefits of three way swivel vs. fish finder and the amount of line you leave on between the swivel and hook. So like what rig works best in which situation.
@richtroxler

Hi Michael. That is actually a very good suggestion. I was going to go into more depth on rigs in one of the videos I made but I was covering too many topics and the video started to way to long. Rigs are something I take for grated, but there is actually a lot accumulated knowledge behind them, so it would make a very good topic for a video. I'll put it on my list, seeing as I actually have to start tying some for mid-summer and most of fall fishing. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching. Stay safe and be well.

Another fantastic set of videos, thank you. May I suggest the creation of some playlists to bind together the videos from the different series? It would help immensely if we could have a way to easily watch each series in sequence. Thank you once again.

A good suggestion. I'll have to figure out how to do that. KZbin keeps changing it's interface, so it's hard for me to keep up lol. Thanks for watching.

Thanks and for once I do not need to change anything to my knots. I do use the same knots. I also use another knot that resembles the improved Bristol. Can not dig it's name right now, but it is very similar.

You should do a surf lures video

I considered it but there are some very good books out on the subject already. One from my friend Zeno Hromin "The Art of Surfcasting with Lures" is a great source of information. I am considering doing a short video on my 4x4 matrix, or how I choose my plugs. I think this would be more informative to the average surfcaster. I've been suffering from severe bouts of vertigo and can't fish, or do much of anything too far from my bed, so I might as well make some videos lol. Thanks for watching

Another great video rich. Just a question from a fl fisherman. I noticed that main line to leader a swivel is used. Down here it seems to be a big no no and we use double uni knot. Just wondering why 1 way is used up north and 1 down south.
@rockyshorestackle2489
@rockyshorestackle2489 5 жыл бұрын
we use double uni knots up here in NY for jetty fishing ... long mono leaders so we can grab the leader and retrieve the fish high up to the rocks. cannot grab braid with your hands with a 30lb fish on the other end; braid will cut your hands with such a load. otherwise swivels to keep line from twisting up with a fish on or with bait/lure tossing around in the water.
@richtroxler

Hi John. In the video I didn't really have the time to cover all the different leader running line scenarios and knots, so I stuck with a basic combo that a beginning to mid level plug thrower would be using, which would be a 3-4 foot flouro leader / spro swivel / running line. As rocky state below many guys tie longer leaders direct with uni-uni or modified albrights, or whatever knot suits their fancy, to ssave their fingers when grabbing line from rocks and jettys. On the beach, rod and a half lenght shock leaders are tied direct to running line just to be able to cast 8 oz. But I was just running out of time and energy on this video lol, so I tried to keep it aimed at the beginner, the kind of people who I get a lot of questions from about these kinds of things. It's hard to design a video that covers all 3 ranges of expertise (beginner, medium, hard-core). But thank you for the question and for watching.

Why no snap swivel use?
@rockyshorestackle2489
@rockyshorestackle2489 5 жыл бұрын
snaps are weak and fail under heavy load; tactical angler's clips are the norm up north.
@richtroxler
@richtroxler 5 жыл бұрын
Snaps are fine for small fish, but big fish beat the crap out of them. No need for them, There are much more dependable options.
