I was actually doing some research and getting as much information on surf fishing on Long Island.I have fished for my whole life, but on occasions would do some surf fishing for black fish in Rocky Point.I am a subscriber to this channel to get as much info to help me get started,I love to fish but after this one video I really don't know if its worth the effort to try and find those 2 miles of surf where these fish are. And if I do ,I will be fishing shoulder to shoulder with others. Love this channel and everyone on it but this was depressing,oh well...

Is it ok to use a conventional reel with a spinning rod of 10ft and what is your take on why if so.

simple answer, no. Spinning reels are designed to be used with spinning rods..it has to do with guides
