I love these sweet melodies, these lyrics meant so much to us youngsters back in the 90s and early 80s. These were the I love you jams. I know surface got me thru my teenage growing pains. I thank you Surface for being that alone group. I know you didn't get recognized as much as you should have I need a time machine just to go back a d be amazed with my child hood. This lead singer had a very soft voice but he knew how to project it. At 53 in 2023 I. Still loving Surface. I thank God for my time with Bernard and all these special brothers in this group who were very talented.

This was one of my favorite groups back in the day and I still love them to this day. I met the lead singer one day after a play that he had performed in back in the early 2000s, he was so down to earth and cool. I just love this group and their beautiful music.

Man, I just thought about something. I've been watching the music videos from Surface's first two albums (1986 debut album and 2nd Wave in 1988) and every member of the group has been featured in these videos. A lot of times when you watch music videos of groups the only person getting seen most of the time is the lead singer. I'm so glad💯🙂 to see David Townsend and David "Pic" Conley in these music videos from their first two albums, because they were just as responsible for Surface's success from 1986 to 1990 as Bernard was.
