You’ll have to consider paint matching the Timber Queen with the Duck Bus.

I just went through the same thing. Was running a big blade that had worn down 3-1/2”. Got a new prop and it made a WORLD of difference. I’m running a 37 mudbuddy but my speeds went from 20-23 to pushing 30.

Trim it up until you throw a rooster tail. The prop should be roughly 1/2 way out of the water on plane. Surface drives are really picky about trim and weight distribution. Especially on smaller setups.

I was about to comment this and then saw your post. As someone who has a surface drive in South East Louisiana, you are trimmed way too low. Add some weight to the front to displace your weight in the back and trim up. That's the issue with manual trims, you have to find the sweet spot on those.

There is a guy here in utah starting to make boats that look just like that but aluminum, would be a nice upgrade

Until you get a new prop, try burrying it all the way to start off, then trim up gradually.
@DuckGunChronicles3 ай бұрын
Ya good idea. I’ll try that

That was my motor before I sold it to the guy u bought it from I took the throttle screw out of it so when I had a heavy load it would push it but that is why it’s hitting the rev limiter

@@DuckGunChronicles yea no problem that motor with the brand new prop I put on would push my 14/36 jon boat 27 mph with me and a dog and a cooler. So yea the prop is way worn out and you should be doing more than 9 mph. And if you got any questions about it let me know.

As someone who has built 100’s of long tails and surface drives they both have there place but timber and swamps long tails are king but in the marsh surface drive is king in south Louisiana !!!

A regular outboard is king in the timber.

Get a different pitch prop and a pod filter kit and rejet the carb. More power and the engine will breath alot more.

Guessing you cant trim it down any further or else you would have. Maybe a mounting bracket that would allow you to trim down... gotta get that nose outta the sky.
@tylerwhite84293 ай бұрын
Also maybe try putting gator glide on the bottom. Might get you a little more speed... and if not it's still def gonna help dragging it around the marsh.

@tylerwhite84293 ай бұрын
@SomewhereInWisconsin he's already pushing water up in the air, and that's shoving the nose up in the air. He needs to trim down to flatten her out and try to get on plane.
