The thing is that this new processor is not for replacing Apple Macbook laptops but x86_64/AMD64 computers running Windows. Web are wasting time comparing them with Macbooks

I think it kinda depends, I can see where you’re are coming from though, there really isn’t much to compare it to as of now in terms of performance, currently I believe it makes sense to compare to MacBooks but for the second gen chips it’s going to makes sense to compare it to the last get.

Great video Trevor! Would you recommend the surface pro to a Software Developer?
@trevorhanson34893 ай бұрын
If windows is a must, then I think it’s a great device. Linux won’t run on it, and wsl2 is also something that is not working at the moment but it is being worked on. There currently is a list of software that works / doesn’t work on reddit. A simple google of “software that doesn’t work on snapdragon x elite” and hitting the reddit link will give you a great idea on what to expect.

Any idea if games purchased from gog will work on arm?
@trevorhanson34893 ай бұрын
I have not heard of that until now, I would assume that they wouldn’t and this is just based off a thread I was reading on them from November. Might take some time before everything is compatible.

in terms of Video editing. Does it outperform rendering performance on Samsung tab s9?
@trevorhanson34893 ай бұрын
I am going to be honest, I haven’t dabbled much in the tablet space besides iPads but I will say this thing, once optimized should blow it out of the water. It won’t be as limiting as the S9.

Yes, I’ve never been a windows laptop fan, and this is someone that daily drives a PC. They’ve always made too much noise and died way too quick. It’s nice seeing that things are changing.

This is going to sound petty: a PC cannot replace a workflow, it can only be used to process tasks as part of a workflow. I know what you mean, and it might sound better than the stupid "daily driver" term used these days, but it is wrong nevertheless, and it undermines the credibility of the presentation from the start, not really what you want if you intend to give recommendations. Just my 2 cents... The video was good otherwise. Keep it up!

Well the intent of most laptops is, at least in my view is either 1. Be the main device that one uses to complete their work/job or 2. Have a device that you can use on the go that doesn’t disrupt the “flow” that you tend to have at your main setup. My goal was to display either of the scenarios, no I don’t expect it to replace a $3000 PC but as a $2000 device , I do expect it to handle the vast majority of my tasks without having to worry. I’ll try to be more “specific” in that regard because I understand how that can be misleading, thanks for the feedback!
