Surfer Kicks Board in Other Surfers Face @

It's well known that Bali is the land of great waves, but also the land of great crowds. Trying to drive 20 km can take 3 hours in a car. Trying to surf Padang Padang can end with a mouth full of fiberglass. What do you think about this situation? Justified? Uncalled for? Lmk 🤙

Sad to see how bad surf travel is now. I'm glad I wad a teen in late 80's and early 90's. I got to travel all over and surf great waves with just a friend or two and some locals.. I stopped surfing 10 years ago because I got tired of paying money to travel and end up surfing with 50 people, many of which don't know how to surf or don't have the experience to surf shallow reef waves. Even my home breaks became so over crowded. Internet ruined surfing.

Yup, "Endless Summer 2" destroyed Tamarindo, Costa Rica and going forward Tavarua as well... Been there and feel so fortunate to have surfed places that have become worthless by the infestation of everyone/anyone wanting to surf

​@dave9351 I was in Tamarindo in 1989 and 1994. Went back to Guanacaste May 2014 and Playa Negra had become this full surf destination on the more west southwest swells(210+). Everywhere has gotten a lot more crowded and the level of surfing has gone down as a whole from the 90s.

I began surfing 1964ish in socal. Iirc, we were pretty civil back then......those WERE the days in Oceanside and Carlsbad. My dad was navy officer, ergo i had access to trestles....Woot! Woot! Tamarack st in Carlsbad, Oceanside harbor, Swami's in encinitas, cardiff reef. Plenty of waves for all of us. I'm 75 now, walk with cane due to left foot surgery, also plagued by mild dementia Rode kawi and suzuki motorcycles for c. 20 yrs. Dont make me show you pix of my gkids 🥰

When watermen were watermen and you had to swim if you lost your board! Used to attend Camp Pacific in Carlsbad (Army-Navy Academy summer sessions) so I could surf there all summer. Such fun! Used to see David Nuuiwha ripping up Tamarinds.

Pretty much. My local spot has 83+ degree water in the summer but it barely gets over 2 feet and it's always blown out mush, yet it's almost as crowded as Pipeline. Yet in the winter, there's no one to be seen. I guess it's because it's a really touristy area and all of those people thankfully leave around August, which is the only time it's good here.
