To me this is the best surfing channel on youtube and really captures why i fell in love with surfing and want to pursue it. The people, places, moments, the joy and thrill you exude with each wave is contagious

@@guyleverton bruv I’m going to warn you that there is a rare occasion coming up first thing fri morning at Newlyn in Penzance…….. if I’m right nearly 60,000 kJ, it’s going to be easy head high and quite possibly barrelling as the tide drops back………. There is a little group from Perranporth. Who I’m sure would be up for hooking up and convoying it down with you as they surf it on quite a regular. I don’t know if you know one of them guy with dreadlocks may be a few years older than me … Long Boarder and short border called Martin………. I think he also lives in Perranporth hey Servs, Newquay Harbour, quite a bit as well. I think that it’s not a good comparison with what’s going to happen down here at the end of next week hangs out with two other guys. Richard and Nathan……. They have it this particular sport pretty much sussed out now, so I’m sure they’ll be hitting it anyway ..there are advantages to the lack of crowds and to the fact that no one can ever predict it correctly…….. which keeps the crowd super thinned down……… in a way. This particular spot is for amateur meteorologists as much as surfers! No worries, if you’re busy, there are quite a few of us considering getting more footage down there, you could be one of the first though 👍 keep an eye on it. Penzance sounds very similar conditions at three tunnels, but there’s a big difference between one and t’other! There is something to be said for massive swells, refracted Round the coast and forced up against a harbour wall. That’s probably half a mile long protected from onshore cross and off shore winds it’s so calm out there on south-westerlies. You could read a newspaper while you’re waiting for the next wave. Unfortunately, the local council completely. Fekkered up The night surfing seen there ……….. prior to 2014, the light pollution from Orange Street lights along Penzance Boulevard, the pier and the whole of Newlyn, and Penzance, combined with a northerly facing wall with a lighthouse on top of it, which they had been kind enough to fix and point permanently into the harbour entrance! Mean the place was lit up like an Astroturf football pitch! One night, some jealous, neighbour of mine, deliberately called out the lifeboat, which he had an obsession with……… soon after we found a reinforced metal gate, preventing anyone from photographing the spot from right next to the peak as you used to be able to do……….. an alleged incident that blew the light in the harbour entrance, which was replaced with one of these new lights that don’t work because of the dead of night pollution, I mean, light pollution! Some kind of pollution. Do you know what I’m saying, these health and safety lot have gone nuts!!! Only a couple of years ago somehow they got the go-ahead on dumping a load more rocks in front of this wave which caused the meander of the river to change. Made the problem they were trying to fix with flooding worse and nearly wrote the wave off for four years by changing the dynamic of the outflow from the river so dramatically did it change the length of the breaking wave fortunately it would appear that on the larger days swell is still creating a similar length, wave, albeit slightly less consistently! Mankind 🙄🫣 if something isn’t broken, don’t try and fix it! It must be the first time in history since Ben, gravy’s favourite surf spot that mankind created a thing of beauty! By complete fluke ! And so Penzance council has spent the last 10 years trying to destroy it! If it was a skate park would be an uproar! Ben gravy points out a similar lack of concern over the protection of perfect waves along the new jersey shore!!! we should start to change this, but in order to do so we have 1st to document what they’re destroying! I’ll drop you a message on your stream, if the situation with predictions changes!

Mentioned the crowds, "10 paddled out". True, at most of the main well known Irish surf breaks. Luckily there are many "B" class empty waves to be enjoyed. Deamed not worth traveling to by most.
