The perspectives that you use make it better than many surfing videos IMO. Many focus way too close to the surfer. The wave is just as much of the story as the surfer, especially on huge waves like those.@@surfersofhawaii

gotta say i enjoy the paddle in stuff more then the tow stuff more variance to the ride the tow stuff is just so automatic drop in big turn race it and out the paddle guys are way more committed and luv seeing them pull in spent about a hr watching so many people now ,, all crazy either way ,, Ho'okipa was about as big as ive seen in yrs on Friday fun day just to cruz the coast

Not just any kitesurfer, it's Jesse Richman (the first few). Also, he ditched his kite on that last one. I'd like to see Kai with a kite, it'd be awesome. And I understand the urge of surfers to want to paddle big waves, but towing (or kiting) allows for much higher performance wave riding, imho.

Riding jaws on a foil is kooky and anyone doing it is just in it for the "insta" likes - they just add to the "zoo" out there for no good reason. They have to get towed in anyway. The windsurfers own the place, but I know they get really ticked off by some of the tow-in guys and kiters always positioning themselves up-wind and not letting people take their fair turns.
