Me and my family have been going to garden city beach every year since 1983 and this is Surfside pier #4 since then. The other 3 cheaply built piers were all destroyed by storms. They finally got smart and are using concrete not poles. Garden city kingfisher pier was destroyed completely by Hugo in 1989 but they built back a great wooden pier well designed then. I look forward to visiting this Surfside pier this summer. Hope they have great entertainment like garden city pier. I could care less about fishing off either in summer anymore. After 40 years I've learned you don't catch many fish in summer off the piers. Thanks Boones for the video. You keep us informed

Yes, we agree. We like the entertainment more than the fishing in the summer as well. Love the Karaoke on the GC pier. Hope SSB has something just as awesome. Thanks for the comments.

Great video - honestly looks like it’s going to be a Dr. Seuss pier with the shape of the buildings?? What’s up with that? Looks like someone read the prints wrong - hopefully it will all come together at the end!
