Awesome, been working on flying out of a small concrete bowl with no coping, that's the key tho... I can roll/jump out. Coping is another level.
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer3 жыл бұрын
Coping will actually make it easier to get some height without having to ollie because of that little pop you get from rolling over the bump. Follow these steps and you'll get it!
@boisebroncoadventures3 жыл бұрын
@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer definitely will do! I will practice lifting the front truck before fly out then look for some coping to pop off! As always rad content my man!

I was excited to see a SmoothStar. It must be Mantra.

Are you highly anticipating a smoothstar review as well?
@pokeypickle33 жыл бұрын
@@danielmakana I am very hopeful but making these videos is hard. I am not going to dictate what videos Mark should make. Mark should be having fun and make whatever he likes. I would be super grateful if he does a review. If Mark doesn't have the time, I will understand.

@@danielmakana Hey Guys, I am enjoying the smoothstar (Manta Ray) but I want to give it as much time as I did the YOW before finalizing my conclusion, and then it is a lot of work to put the video and narration together. Stay tuned!

Hi Mark can you describe your setup?
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer3 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure I use at least 5 different boards in this video! Was there one in particular you were interested in?

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer ok i would know if you normally use a standard deck with a surfsk8 trucks like cx o similar. so i've tried to use 9 inch deck with cx but is not stable and i'm came back to my carver super surfer 32'' with his setup i don't know if it's my impression or something about ibrid setup what you think...?.. bye thanks..

Do you have wheels you recommend for surfskating in a bowl? ie. Grippy enough to really pump yet still slide?
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer3 жыл бұрын
I don't have a favourite, but I do prefer something at least 80a. The old Carver 81a Concaves (I really don't like the ecothane ones), the 80a 66mm YOW Cinetics, and the stock 84a Smoothstar ones I found offer that good combination of both grip and slide (when you want it). I am too cheap to shell out upwards of $100 for the fancier wheels that some others are using though! Keeping my eyes out for good deals on used ones.
@SunriseSessions2 жыл бұрын
Really good video (me after revisiting 😉). After having tried all the different boards and owning more than a year ago..... Which one is your go to for the park? Still the sector 9 c5?
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer2 жыл бұрын
I do find that deck a bit too small now that I`ve got used to bigger and wider boards. It is the only one I have landed a treflip on, so it definitely has some advantages. I love my YOW Snappers, Curfboard Wave Se, and custom setup with Powell Peralta Nitro Hot Rod deck and CX trucks in the skatepark these days.

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer nice. I just made a custom with a winkowski deck, c5 trucks and fat free orangatang wheels. And still love my smoothstar

Wheels really depend on your needs. I haven't found the one set that I think: "I need these on all of my boards". Let me know what are you looking for and riding usage and maybe I can help.

There’s no bowl near where I live. We do have a skate park filled with obstacles for tricks. Unfortunately it’s always crowded with kids and teenagers 😢 I have only been in it a few times when police chase out those under-aged drinking teenagers and I had it all to myself. Only a few times. Maybe I should call the cops myself 😂😂
