As a beginner these few videos are insanely helpful. Clear, concise, and useful, exactly what a learner like me needs. I really appreciate your effort and time in making such great videos!

Just catching up on past videos, love part one and part two of this series. Good information and well presented. Thanks for taking the time to create this. For sure anyone looking at a DR650 should review both of these vids. Dino

Not properly oiling your carb filter is a sure fire way to clearly wear out your carb and potentially cause massive head aches when you start having carb issues in the middle of a long road trip. Also Filter oil is way too cheap to be cutting corners using motor oil. Filter oil is not just normal oil in a can, it comes out thin and then as it cures it thickens and gets insanely sticky.

I would love to go with you anytime on a trip, don’t have to worry at all when travelling along with you. Great job bro. I hope some day I’ll see you whenever I do NZ trip. ✌🏻 until then keep well...

The carb filter comes out. Pull the black retainer out with long nose pliers then the foam comes out.

Firstly put a Seat Concepts commuter seat on it. Need comfortable saddle before anything else - just my experience. Then it was windscreen, tires, handle bar risers, usb charger, phone mount, pumper carb, big fuel tank, bags.

I know how to do all this stuff but it's STILL helpful to review. Good content, thank you from Centennial Colorado USA.

Helped me bud. I just got my Dr today, ridden a total of 116km on it. Bought it used ( tanami edition ) with 520km on the clock, spent about $5000 on b&b, Sargent seat, FFRC suspension, pivot pegs, 10 000 lumin LED ( got its own fan, lol ), Djokovic exhaust, few other things, handle bars etc. Had the air box and fuelling needle modded, so happy. Ridden a total of 4 times ever ( including the learner course ). Probably kill myself on the damned thing, and be counted as a Covid death lol 😂💀

What year is your DR? Where is the Charcoal box? I was surprised to see the throttle cables on top. Mine were originally on the bottom, but made a mistake of gluing my heated grips on the tube 180 from the original config. Installed new bars and risers...so it didn't hurt. Can you make a video on how to tune the carb?
@NzJohny3 жыл бұрын
2019 :) I think only California got that
@NzJohny3 жыл бұрын
Ah I see. That's shouldn't be a problem. My carb is set good atm and dont want to risk messing it up. But when it's due to tune I most certainly will. Thanks for watching.

Dang! You got yourself a nice old man. Things to consider, How big are you? And is it your first bike? If you’re still pretty small the weight might be a bit hard to manage, especially if it’s your first bike
@alexmajor65792 жыл бұрын
Its heavy and is kinda tall for people with shorter legs. The power is manageable so you wont have to worry about yeeting it into an unintentional wheelie. I'd say sit on one and as long as it fits you it will probably be a good choice. Also consider the KLR650. If you plan on mostly road miles the KLR is a better bet if you plan on doing more dirt then the DR is a better bet
