Just BTW the plugs in the cases can seize & cause horrendous trouble so the best thing to do to prevent this is: 1) I have read you should get the engine warm before attempting removal (not sure about this as the plug and the case both expand at the same rate); 2) put valve grinding paste on the hex spanner when you try to loosen the plug as it will grip a little better; 3) apparently the O-ring is the thing that grabs, so prise it out and put some anti-seize on *both* sides of it once you get it out the first time; 4) no need to do it up really tight when you're finished, just tweak it down. Hope this helps

In my opinion there is only one “essential” mod on the DR650 and that only applies if you weigh more than 50lbs. That mod would be the sus suspension.

Extendable not too tricky. Two,pieces of tube, one small enough to fit inside the other. drill multiple holes in each so that extension can be raised to different heights - bolt through each tube to hold in place.

Hi great video! I am working on a old Suzuki 250 and it just wont go on neutral. I was even pressing the little red handle on the left but with no luck. I also can't figure out if this thing has a clutch or not of if it needs to have the battery connected to be able to go on neutral. Anyway, I appreciate your insight.

Not sure how this would apply to a postie bike (but works FINE on a 2006 Holden VZ ute !!!) - "Kerosene Flush". For a neglected engine, add KEROSENE (~ 20% engine oil capacity, so in this case around 200 mils?) and idle for 10-15 mins. Can clean up an engine beautifully. I was a bit sceptical of this "old farmers trick", but I was facing a hefty repair bill (likely a full engine rebuild) on my ute - it was blowing smoke (exhaust) badly and burning 1.5 - 2 ltrs oil per 1000 km. I drained the oil and replaced the filter, for 6.5 ltr oil capacity I added 5 litres oil and 2 litres kerosene and let it idle for 20 mins. What came out was BAD. Repeated the process (new filter, 5 litres oil, 2 litres kero) and ran it for 40 mins with a couple of 5 minute bursts at 3,000 rpm. Came out "not quite as bad" that time. A new fresh filter and 6.5 litres oil - NO EXHAUST SMOKE at all, seems to be more responsive, and oil burn has dropped from around 2 litres to HALF a litre per 1,000 km !!!

Installed the Renthal RC High 0809-01-BK bars to my DR650 2018 after watching your video. I replaced the 2” risers to the standard bars which was OK at the time but not perfect. However, the Renthal bars with the original clamp (without the risers) was a huge improvement at the most forward setting (about 5 so straight up from the clamp). I can stand comfortably without hunching over and the DR feels more manoeuvrable and stable in the dirt. I can throw the bike around a lot more than before. The Renthal bars are stronger and will handle a drop without bending unlike the original thin bars. Thanks for sharing your upgrade which helped greatly. I’d recommend the Renthal RC High 0809 bars for the DR650. Fits with OEM cables without issue.

Diconnect the kick stand switch and jumper the plug. If thebstand bounces down at all while riding it shuts the bike off.

I don't know how the staintune works, but the Leo Vince uses baffles and not any sort of packing. As such it doesn't require any maintenance for the life of the bike.
