I'm sorry for my English but I don't understand how you instantly have the "Z" since you use it to launch the ability with which you spend the 3 orbs but the second you have it again without doing anything, could you explain it to me please?

The amount of orbs I gain back is equal to the amount of stacks you use on Surge at the time. 14 stacks = slightly over 2 orbs, 20 stacks = 3 orbs back.
