So happy for you Mary!!! Also... I'm so thankful to hear from you about not just rolling over and accepting what one doctor says or treatment plan...or how one doctor decided to treat you like.... Super super true that kind people are nice!!!!!! I hate the feeling of leaving an appointment that your disrespected and made to feel inadequate or less than when you are expressing your thoughts and opinions.

I am so grateful that you were able to get this finished and also just a day surgery!!!! That alone shows the progress of your health. Previously you would have stayed in the hospital just for surgery recovery....Blessings! And the gas puts you to sleep so they can intubate you and get you fully off to sleep....it happens so fast...:)

Oh my gosh, I have chronic medical issues and live for my heating pad. I think the warmth relaxes the body which makes it easier to endure pain. Glad you are finally done with your feeding tube. You need to throw a little party after the anaesthesia is done with!

Gosh Mary, I remember the beginning of your feeding tube adventures. Remember the NG tube, throwing it up and falling on the stairs? I think it was all in the same video. I felt so bad for you, coughing and throwing up with that gaggy thing in your throat. You were SO so sick back then. It's so wonderful to see you feeling better with Trikafta👏 Mary you're so brave to be video'd after surgery! Most of us can't even talk. Glad you got your stoma closed. Take care💜

Yay!!!! I’m so glad it’s all closed up now Mary and that you guys can finally say goodbye to that season of life. Like you said in the last video, I originally found you guys when I first discovered my special interest or medicine and chronic illnesses and everything that comes along with that so thankyou for sharing the end of the feeding tube journey. I also realised a few months ago that I found your channel maybe a few weeks before Mary had her feeding tube placed so it really does feel like the end of the beginning for me ☺️.

Mary I could agree more. After having 50+ surgeries over my 69 years of life, anaesthesia is the best part of surgery. I have only ever had two bad anaesthetics, both were by female anesthesiologists. A two hour surgery is a big surgery, I am thinking it was more like microsurgery. I can still remember the chloroform anaesthesia I was given when I was four years old to have my tonsils removed, I kid you not. I cried my heart out I was so scared and all I had was my Koala bear my Aunt and Uncle had given me. The frustrating part is that while you have a cute little heart dressing, it doesn't do justice to what happened internally. That's what I hate about day surgery and they always seem to down play what's been done. Yet it will take time to recover from it. Please do as you've been advised post surgical which I hope includes not picking Elijah up or carrying him, just for awhile. Heat packs or ice are amazing to help cope with pain. I need my bi-lateral knee replacements revised as they are now 22 years old and problematic but being in the post C19 phase here in Australia, my inner voice is screaming to not go into hospital let alone have the surgeries. Wishing you a speedy recovery and please, take it easy for awhile.

I’m so happy for you to get this closure with your feeding tube. I don’t know if I’ll ever be completely ready to get rid of my daughters button. She currently takes 80% of her necessary calories by mouth but uses the tube for 100% of her meds.

I constantly use my weat pillows when I feel pain. Like Mary said it really distract (and help I imagine) against the pain). I love the heat spreading through me. I’ve read that you should NOT use it if you got a sprain or somethinge like it though. The best thing is that you can put the pillow in the freezer to if you need a gentle way to keep an area cold or if it’s too hot outside.
