They say I have a swollen Thyroid, and I've had to do a lot of blood work- my mum was talking about them removing it and I'm really anxious, Im having an ultra sound tomorrow-wish me luck!

I just found out a mth ago I have hyperthyroidism... they put me on methamozole for it. But I ended up having a allergic reaction to it. The docters are wanting to remove my thyroid but I'm freaking out bc I've already been through a handful of surgeries over other things. I've also lost 20 pounds and I'm already skinny. Eating high calorie foods just so I can gain some weight back I'm also eating like a pig which I've never in my life eaten this way but I'm so energetic I'm losing whatever I gain. So I'm wonder if people have had lost weight and had the surgery have yall gained weight from it? Please let me know bc I'm deciding on doing that instead of taken this other medication
