How are you feeling since your plate removal ? How is your mobility ? We’re you able to resume your work outs ? I have recently been diagnosed with a long ulnar and I too have been told to get the ulnar shortening osteotomy. I am trying to find individuals who have had the procedure and see what there recommendations are, pertaining to whether or not it was worth it in the end , thank you for sharing your journey …. Sincerely …. Jason Barton

Well, that depends. Part of me feels like it didn't work, which is frustrating because it feels like I went through all of this for nothing. But the game isnt over yet and there's still a chance that it will heal better after my 2nd surgery tomorrow. I'd recommend it if you are in a LOT of pain, because there's a good chance it will work (according to my doc). So as of now, I'm still just waiting.

Hey, I was just wondering what sort of pain you had before your surgery? And if you were unable to do certain things which drove you to get the surgery or if not, what your reasons were? I’m sorry that you’re still experiencing pain

I was having a lot of pain in my wrist from simple things like driving. It made it difficult to use my wrist at all because it hurt so much

Kayla Welch yeah okay that’s not great then and it makes sense why you’d have the surgery. My wrist has been pretty painful since I had a diagnostic surgery in December, and now when I write or type or just do things during the day it’s usually painful. And I haven’t been able to properly put weight on it to even do a push-up for years, so hearing you have the ability seems reassuring. I was meant to have this surgery almost a fortnight ago but it got postponed, and now I’m waiting to find out when I can actually get it, and I’m really hoping that it works for me

was the pain before the surgery so bad that you couldn’t workout? bc i just got diagnosed with the same thing but my pain is stopping me from doing everything

It made working out really difficult, but my pain didn't stop when I stopped working out. It got to the point where even driving would irritate my wrist almost every day, so I decided I had to do the surgery. But if stopping the activity you're doing is helping you, that's great!
