As an anaesthetic nurse, I’m saying that it is illegal for you to be operating and machinery, that includes driving for 24 hours. And to be going home after 9 hours of anaesthetic drugs, is absolutely insane and gross negligence on the part of the anaesthetist.

I'm a nurse so I have a license to say this... Follow the doctor's orders, drink plenty of water, walk when you feel up to it, pain meds mean slowing up your bowels so take what is your favorite stool softener. There! Now that I said that, you take your time, Friday will be here before you know it! Enjoy your time off, you can lay there and think about the fun stuff you will be planning! Hope you feel much better today than you did yesterday (that means healing). Tomorrow you will feel better than today!

Wow, Kelly, so sorry. These things come at us out of nowhere. but thanks! Thanks for letting us know, thanks for the laughs and encouragement. The streaked cabinets would have driven you bonkers🤪😂Made me laugh! SO relatable! Last year my son took me to the er, they said I had colon cancer and were doing surgery that day! When I got home from the surgery I felt stressed for the things I felt needed done, and what I could do. I ended up spending most of my summer wrapped up in the sunshine on the porch. Our German shepherd wanted to give me attention too. God wanted me to surrender, lean into His plans, slow down, and be at peace. Busy is what seems to bring a peacefulness for me, but God wanted me to understand that a slow easy, peaceful time is a season in our Lives too. I’m working on that😉,or He’s working on me. Your Heavenly Father loves you and is looking out for you. Rest, rest in that, find joy in doing the diys that are slow and easy. Let others take on some of those tasks that you would do, and don’t feel guilty.we care, we pray, and we’re here when you are ready to jump back in. We found out my son has a brain mass, which is causing seizures, will need neurosurgery. We do have a community, and we pray for each other. I think that’s a blessing, people we don’t know, praying and caring for one another. Thanks Kelly you helped built a community 😊!

Oh my! 9 1/2 hours in surgery and with your reaction to the anesthesia and they sent you home with a 1 1/2 hour drive? That is insane. I had to giggle when you commented on the compression stockings - I wear them everyday. Well, should wear them every day!! Take care on yourself. I had a major neck surgery and was in the hospital for 10 days . When I got home my corgi and my chihuahua gently sat on each side of me in my recliner ….. my husband couldn’t move them . They missed me so much and we quickly realized they were watching over me vigilantly…. My chihuahua want in front of me with my walker leading me and staying with me when I went to the bathroom, he didn’t even want my husband to help me . I had to sleep in the recliner for 4 months …. They had me so tucked in to my chair at night it was hard to get up …. I love them everyday for that …. You are in good hands . Animals know and love us so much … I lost my corgi in Dec, he was 13 …. I will never forget that about him , I miss him so much . When I looked into his eyes I felt the love he had for me . I’m sorry you lost your son and having to do all these hard things . As a mom I don’t think I could do it . God Bless you sweet lady , let your fur babies help you heal your broken heart as well as your injuries ❤from TX

Goodness Kelly! Praying for you now. Can’t imagine how you continued to do things with the pain you had to have been in prior to surgery. Dogs are so intuitive. I’ve witnessed 3 family member have open heart surgery recently and their dogs responded in such gentle ways the moment they came home. Would that people were always so faithful and kind. I'm so sorry to hear you had to have surgery. Everything can wait. Focus on yourself. This may be Gods way of say8ng, "Slow down, heal yourself." I understand the post op nausea, I had that one time, and since then, every time i go into surgery, the anesthesiologist puts a patch behind my ear. It's a long-acting antiemetic or antinausea. In the future, if you are going under general anesthesia, ask the anesthesiologist about the patch. Sending healing prayers and positive energy your way. 😊

Hi Kelly, I’ve had 10 orthopedic surgeries over my life time and I can’t imagine going through that length and type of surgery that you did and being so sick afterward without the doctor or hospital insisting that you stay in the hospital at least the night of the surgery. Never in 40 years of nursing have I heard of anyone being in surgery for 9 hours...and after 2 hours, etc., they send you home...and you drove (although that is NOT clear from how you phrased the story). I have no doubt he’s still grieving Ray too. Dogs are very intuitive creatures, he knows that Kelly is ill and knows that Ray was ill and now he’s gone. He probably feels like that’s going to happen to Kelly too. Poor Sweet Ibiza😢🐾♥️ Kelly I hope you heal quickly. I’ve had many surgeries and have been under for that long before so I know exactly what you mean about the anesthesia headache and nausea, it’s Awful!! I suffer with migraines anyways, but this was way worse. The last time it happened I was 2.5hrs away from home I made my sweet hubby drive that distance just to bring me a bottle of my headache meds lol. The hospital will only give Tylenol but that doesn’t work for me, the Only thing that works is Tension Headache. I didn’t even visit with my hubby because I couldn’t lift my head and he understood and waited like 30min and drove back home, I’m lucky to have him. Sending healing prayers for you sweetie & to the girls for stepping up while you’re down. Please do what your doc says to do so you heal quickly with no complications. XOXO♥️
