I had this done on both knees last year! It’s a really hard surgery to recover from, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. This surgery is why I decided I wanted to go to PT school after I graduate from undergrad.

@@Jessica-kg1sr it was really tough and it’s agony at the start . The surgery itself was a huge success….. until…. I slipped coming out of the shower and fractured the surgery site and bent the pins. Iv been on the brace for nearly 4 months now. I have a follow up with my surgeon to see if I need another operation . But besides the fall the surgery went well until I ruined it but it is a really long painful road

Had this surgery 4 years ago it was a massive fail. I am now 2 months PO total knee replacement.

@@scarsmusicstudio I won’t lie the pain is a lot . I’m onto my third week tomorrow and I’m still in a lot of pain . Just keep icing it as much rest as you can . Elevate it. I’m wearing shorts all the time as it’s easier and u can’t remove the brace. U will probs be sent home wit pain killers but have paracetamol on hand too . I have gotten a few bed sores so try to scoot around on the bed every once and a while . It’s more painful than I thought it would be I won’t lie but just think of the end goal . That’s all I can think of for the moment . Any questions please ask and best of luck !!

@@scarsmusicstudiomake sure to work on your range of motion! At least for me, I had my surgery in march, I was falling behind of where I was supposed to be. This wont happen to everyone but make sure to work on it so your PT wont strap you down to a table and bend it for you- it hurts like hell. Thank God I have my range of motion back by now, but it took a long time. Good luck with your surgery!
