Lol ladder doesn't really count, so many noobs compared to Surgical goblin already reached top 1 and are always on the top it's not even funny. Most pro's don't play it seriously or at all since it's just a grind for nothing, they only train for competitive and get to top 1000 on ladder to qualify for the competitive tournaments where money is on the line. When Mugi was at his best last year and won the finals, i don't even remember him being in the top 100 on ladder. Issei, Kitassyan, etc all these guys that reached top 1 ladder this year got completely destroyed when they tried to qualify for the competitive tournaments where the pro's actually play seriously. If Surgical Goblin would have played ladder seriously he would have finished top 1 back then.

Do you think the Goblinstein gets nerfed or the meta just adapts around it? I've noticed more and more people running lightning to get rid of the doctor, but it seems like the only counter that completely negates the big damage it can do.

You got the skill to play competitively surg, this games become so incredibly matchup dependent. If you’re at that skill level, the only thing that matters is playing well, and picking the right decks for matchups.

this proves how new evos have ruined the game. its all about match ups now and much less about skill. no offense to surg you were incredibly clutch many times very strong but there is no way that you can do that unless there is a serious imbalance in the game.

What I noticed when you played competitively, is that you tried to predict their decks too much. When it works it's good, but a lot of the times they didn't play what you expected, and you could have outplayed them with decks you're better with than your snipe decks
