even with the reasoning mentioned in the video, I see sylveon being in essentials as a crazy pick, mostly bc ur also saying "i'm not sure about ceruledge/archaludon". In Japan, Sylveon has been in 8 city league decks (and not a single 1st place win), while archaludon has been in close to 100 and ceruledge in almost 200. Even hydreigon has seen more play, while being very mid, milotic has found a spot in noivern/ogerpon decks, black kyurem is being played in control and decks that need help vs raging bolt. Also, energy search pro gholdengo is actually getting more results than I ever expected, brilliant blender is probably the second best ace spec in the set and is seeing a lot of play... while miracle headset is one of the worst but is considered an essential... I really don't understand some of these picks, considering we can literally see the cards performing rn

@@blukins8 gholdengo is currently a mid tier deck so e-search pro isnt core in our eyes, archauldon and ceruldege will be mid tier decks in our opinion based on our testing and theory on the flaws of they have. we rated headset horrendously in our set review only giving it the nod in this video with the very recent no rotom lax result, with lax being a top tier deck and this having potential in that approach it makes sense to me. As I mention in the video, eevee was getting on core essentials purely for potential anyway so sylveon snuck in and is probably the least relevant pickup but once again, a hard to analyse effect that I’d rather have for when a deck can exploit it The reason we do core and believer is you can make your own choices though! Also as much as I delve through the city league data, we’ve seen time and time again it’s not a 1-1 thing. Recently, raging bolt ogerpon took weeks to take off and Terapagos builds were also sparse on release!
