Surging Sparks, Prismatic, Rocket Set and Trainer Set, might lead to Pokemon Company having to prioritize what sets to keep in the print line. Maybe Temporal, Twilight, Paradox and Shrouded have to give way. Which will in turn make those "cheaper" sets scarce. Might be an alternative route to put your cash if you want to avoid the climate of SS and Prismatic. PC ETB are also available for some of those sets.

I've never bought at release, but surging sparks just had to be an exception for me. Got 1 case of PC ETBs & 1 case of BB. It's not my favourite, doesn't have the best variety of cards imo, but supply doesn't meet demand, reprints aren't hinted at coming anytime soon, and fomo is REAL! Great video as always :)

I honestly wish I bought more of this set. I’ll just turned off by the fact that I wasn’t able to get pre-order pricing anymore. You already had addressed this. I should’ve listened lol. This is not a one trip pony when you have phenomenal chase cards that are actually caring value. The latias still stays over $200, milotic and hydraigon are both $70+ cards.

Whether people like it or not, that Pikachu ex is gonna be this generations Umbreon, gengar vmax or giratina v. 100% will end up as t3 most expensive card and that alone is gonna keep the prices high in my opinion. even if reprints happen and demand drops, similarly to ES I don’t see it ever cratering in price just yo-yoing at best. Also that’s not a hot take, if you take lost origin’s set list and put it up against surging sparks, surging BLOWS lost origin out of the water. It’s genuinely not even close SS is so much deeper and more fun to open

Doesn't matter. Market doesn't work that way. Collectors have nothing to collect if investors aren't opening boxes to sell cards and the collectors aren't buying them to open the cards. Nothing get's opened or sold and nobody has anything to buy. See how that's not possible? The idea of a "collector" vs an "investor" is as thin as the line on the graphs. A collector will easily flip to be an investor as soon as they can afford the box they missed out on for so long. Cuz let's be real, would you really want to open that box when you waited 6months-1 year to be able to afford buying it again? And the same is true for an investor. An investor will easily flip to collecting the cards as soon as the price drops too far and the popularity of the set tanks. Or they will just sell it outright at a loss, to a collector/investor, anyways because they never liked the set to begin with. And the cycle continues. Everyone holds boxes AND opens boxes AND buys singles. Unless you just really don't care about the cards at all.

Reprinting PE and OF recently has clearly hurt the supply of SS. OF is 15 months old and getting reprinted.... with no real demand for the set (compared with SS)

I got 2 cases of SS for 1016aud each and 3 bbs for 170aud each. At the same time i ordered these, i bought another case of paldea and twilight for my collection, aswell as another 2 ES bb's. (Got them for 1k each 😅) Hindsight, shoulda just put all my funds into SS 😂

Reprints/Restocks are mostly a good thing. They keep the price from going crazy and gives the average joe a chance to pick up some product. As PokeOz argues, if it's in demand, it doesn't hurt the value long term. I think SS is a BIT overhyped and we will still see some market adjustments in 1-2 years, but it is objectively a strong set. Everything goes up in the very long term.

It's also not like BTC or ETH where you can just buy more coins. lol. It's a very easily predicable investment vector that honestly, most people are clueless about. That's slowly becoming less and less though. Even big Twitch/KZbin streamers like Michael Reeves, Nmplol, etc. are posting videos of them opening Surging Sparks and other boxes this week. It's only going to become more insane over the next 2-5 years. Every box bought at release is going to net anyone who buys it at release price some very very good profits guaranteed.
