I was not expecting a refresher course on long division, but there it was. Thanks Surly!

"QBP purchased Salsa Cycles in 1997, a California-based mountain-bike manufacturer. The following year, QBP entered the emerging single-speed bike market with its in-house designed Singleator chain tensioner. Later in 1998, this product and the new Rat Ride single-speed frame (soon renamed the 1X1) helped launch the company’s new start-up, Surly Bikes." They're not some little cottage manufacturer of bicycles.

This does not explain how you can have a TA and two different widths of hubs? Is the washer on the drive side reversiple? Does that make up the difference and the same length axle will do?

I understand the math to get 1.5mm, but what is the change in angle of the seat and chain stays?? Can you add that to the video for me?
@mathisbourcier11263 жыл бұрын
the answer is it's negligible, I think

So, for 135mm spaced wheels, looks like you need a pretty good sized rotor spacer on the nondrive side, what about the drive side? Re-dish? Is a derailleur hanger spacer a thing? HELP ME!!!
@SurlyBikes41306 жыл бұрын
All that is needed is Surly 10/12 adapter washers HU0000 for 6mm QR or HU0001 10mm Thru-Axle

I like the Ops version of the older Krampus better as I feel like flexing may cause a bit of a fatigue over time plus all my bikes break at the rear chain stays. Plenty happy with my OLD Krampus though. I'm sure there will be lots of people buying this new one though. I wont though because the Shimano Cranks went away.

I've never really considered a Surly before, until watching this video, here are the reasons why... 1. Tiny Peewee Herman visible in frame. 2. The way the pen is thrown into shot and caught by the manager man. 3. The big machines in the background.

If that guy can design a bike.....so phony, so UNcool. It,s about selling product and they think they've got their market figured out. Surly, let't get REAL.
