This film has been selected for screening in the prestigious Indian Panorama section of the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa from the 20th to the 28th of November, 2021.
The documentary film deals with the various construction related challenges faced by DMRC during its third phase of expansion. In Phase 3, DMRC constructed about 190 kilometres of new lines and had to encounter innumerable challenges such as construction in the congested old Delhi localities, passing through an extremely busy road intersection at Ashram and constructing Delhi Metro’s deepest station at Hauz Khas.
With the help of new age graphics and interviews of the engineers who executed the difficult project, the film brings to light the massive effort put in by DMRC to expand the Metro footprint in the National Capital Region (NCR). The making of the film in itself was a meticulous task as thorough research on the challenges faced had to be done by a dedicated team of officials followed by recording of hours of interviews of the engineers.
Extensive shooting of the various locations along with retrieval of relevant archival footage had to be done to make the film a reality. Along with editing and other post production requirements, the making of the film took over a year’s time. It is also an important document for transit rail engineers and researchers as it sheds light on a variety of issues that construction of such mammoth infrastructure encounter.
This is the second time that a documentary film made by DMRC has received such recognition. A film on the engineering challenges faced by Delhi Metro during its Phase 2 had won the National Award in the 'Best Promotional Film Non-Feature films' category in 2012. 'The Dream Fulfilled - Memories of the Engineering Challenges' had won the prestigious 'Rajat Kamal' award and was conferred to the film by the then President.

60% of electricity used by DMRC is via Riwa Solar power plant. I am so proud to be a Delhite. ❤ I live nearby Majlis Park Metro station. And I witnessed the Construction of Phase 3 by my own eyes from very start. I am so proud of DMRC.

It's been one year and we literally can't see any progress in phase 4...work started back in 2019 and not a single strech is ready, and would not be ready before 2026. What u want to say about this?

Incredible performance happen only when you are pushed out of your comfort zones. Excellent. I always admired Delhi metro as a traveller. How efficient, effective, affordable and conformable Delhi Metro is. But behind the scenes hardwork, knowledge, experience of the whole team is highly appreciable. If we talk of the development in payment systems of DMRC it is out of the world and the most advanced in the world. From just window tokens to metro card to QR ticketing to online UPI based tech, it is just mind blowing. I live in shiv vihar, pink line last metro station from Majalis park. I have seen the construction from shiv vihar to jafrabad regularly. Its a very crouded vast area of Delhi that covers approx 7km distance. Narrow streets, roads with less space but stil DMRC managed to find a way to make the work of mind happen in reality. Commendable job!

I've been to Delhi in 1996. It was a completely different world back then. Driving from Safdarjung to my office near Connaught place was an absolute nightmare. I remember the introduction and then scrapping of the BRTS. Delhi metro is an amazing achievement. One of the most extensive metro systems in the world and yes it is better than the ones we've got in the USA. Even the NY subway pales in comparison in terms of quality.

First metro railway was started in India in my city Kolkata but it is now sad to say that because of politics many new projects of kmrcl is still under construction for more than 14-15 years I don't know when we will gonna see kolkata metro railway connecting Howrah station, sealdah station and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose international airport. Although the newly made Sealdah metro station is completed with fine technology but still it not inaugurated.

It's really good that you are showcasing the prestigious DMRC via this video but I think you should also showcase, how DMRC has not yet given the employment to the selected candidates of various maintainer posts including maintainer fitter, electrician and electronic mechanic. These are the candidates who gave their best and worked hard to get the top ranks and got their names in the selection list after leaving tens of thousands of students behind and many of these students were 26 at the time of exam. Now, these students are 28 and cannot look for any alternate and what DMRC does is, releasing a notice that their candidature is till April, 2022 ans after that they lose the last hope of getting their dream job even after clearing the exam because DMRC don't want them? Seriously? These are the students who worked hard enough to earn that post and it's known to everyone that after releasing the result, DMRC lowered the seats to only one third of the original posts notified. Atleast give those candidates their hard earned jobs. Either DMRC need those students now or not, it's only a statistcal data for you but for the students, it's about their life and death. I, along with those students, am really happy to see the glorious path, DMRC is running over. But, make you should also make sure to give the jobs as promised and not taint DMRC's prestige with those innocent student's blood. Hope @DMRC will look into it.
