The Dempsey Apartments is owned by the City of Macon and Contracts under HUD The Federal level and Managed by the Macon Bibb County Housing Authority. Now the Problem we are having although not Exclusively, is that We have some of the Tenants that are classified As Disabled and some that are Senior citizens are connected with Organized Crime that Funnel Ilegal Street Drugs that comes from outside of the Borders of the United States, through the Prison System and from the Streets of Downtown Macon into the Dempsey Apartments to the Dope men and the Tenants to are addicted to Drugs for they buy inside the Dempsey Apartments. We have the presence and Atmosphere on some of the floors of nine stories of a prison Culture that is demoralizes me and other tenants that do not want to be a part of that culture. The Drug Traffickers bring the same human elements of the Homelessness off the streets of Macon and Bibb County. There is also prostitution, and the Selling of Prescription Drugs. In the Front of the Dempsey Apartments there public Benches, and this same crowd of Tenants sit on the Benches and Draw some the Homeless population And openly Sell illegal street Drugs, and Precription drugs, Prostitution, Using Profanity, Drinking alcohol and Panhandling Predestrians on the sidewalk and in the Streets. The Macon Housing Authorities and the property management team at the Dempsey has made many Efforts to Address this problem.
