For bird proofing your cables try anaconda flexible conduit with ferrals and bird mesh with stainless ties. I'm an electrician with 20 years in the grain movement industry. The cockies will eat the black conduit as well but not as much as the standard grey. Anaconda is metal inside, even when they eat the sheath off it still works, bitumen paint to waterproof after damage.

Yep. Thunderstorm season here at the West end of Java. Two days with no measurable rain so far this month. 712mm so far this month. YTD 3739mm. Thunderstorms pretty much every afternoon. Sometimes they start before noon. Sometimes they run to late night. I haven't seen hail here yet though. Retired here in late 2021. The humidity is a killer at an average of 90% for the year. Average is 95% some months, like this one. That is REALLY hard on electronics. Everything corrodes like crazy. 304 Stainless Steel rusts. USB keys rust. RJ45 plugs and sockets corrode. I'm continually doing troubleshooting and repairs to my LAN (6 POE cameras, 2 DVRs, 2 POE switches, 4 other switches, multiple access points covering 2 buildings, 2 NASs, multiple computers, and various other Ethernet connected devices). It is a busy retirement.

It’s good to see your looking after your safety. THANK ANT. There is nothing better than the smell of rain especially knowing it’s helping your environment. 👍you don’t have to thank us for your work. It’s just amazing how you work in this environment. Have you looked into proximity sensors for your tanks ? You’ve already got the ability and systems in place to detect and control/monitor your tank levels ? Most of the switching is low voltage and will connect very easily?

Hi Jack. I liked the fact that Starlink held a signal. Go Starlink. More drinking water for the camels there.

Hail storm here two years ago delivered cricket balls which destroyed the polycarb roofing but the solar panels survived the pummelling which surprised me. Some hail punched fully through the polycarb sheets. Don't forget to check the harness webbing. Normal nominal life is 10 years but the fibers do degrade. Best check is to flex them with sunlight from the side and you might see the speckles of fibre particles in the air. I would replace the harnesses after 15 years. Store in the dark away from UV. I do enjoy your adventures and learn a lot.

What kind of grasses typically grow in your parts? Just wondering if it would be worth spreading some seed mix to try get some more ground cover like clover & anything else the cattle will enjoy.
@IfyouarehurtnointentwasappliedАй бұрын
The water laying on the ground and not soaking in is evidence of the camel pressure on the water it would be interesting to see how the ground a few km down stream where the heavy padding is minimal and test the infiltration rate compared to red dust puddles the next generation of how well this is set up is more tank and traps on pipelines in a patern so waterstorage is more and easy to distribute property wide to spread that pressure more evenly over the hole property increasing the feed consumption and decreaseing the walking just like some of the biggest now checking a water is looking at a camera if a pump failure could be a matter of a tap actuator or manual turn the need to fix things like pumps straight away ?

I am discussing this with the partner program at the moment... The ads are there if I make anything or not, so I'm better to try and make something off them! But they aren't exactly playing fair, because some of my content grates with some of their leanings...

Are you going to put a claim in for hail damage🤣🤣 What did you think about going with a thinner float stick on your tank floats so there not binding up in the sleeve, it would save you from having to free them all the time

Jack, Why do you keep messing about with these water tanks and solar. You need to standardise everything. One set up on every site, all the same pipe, all the same sizes, all the same cable. Then if something happens you only need one set of kit and parts...... period. Case in point, messing about with poly pipe, armored poly conduit, do it once , forget it forever. Every site you do something different, I just don't get it. Regards Neil
@Mark-wv6sgАй бұрын
Sometimes if we didn’t want birds damaging cable or conduit we would put cable ties appox 250 mm apart don’t cut ties seems to deter birds
