I have the same one and tbh the spring wear out pretty fast. It's an amazing toy and I used to love it but I'd say keep it in the box. Adds another cool sealed lightsaber toy you can get graded and maybe one day sell for alot of cash

When I was a kid my best friend had this lightsaber. I had the Obi-Wan one. Our very first day of high school I walked into the band room and my best friend on the other side looked at me and pulled his lightsaber out of his bag and engaged it staring me down like a sith. Everyone got quiet and made a circle like something was going to go down and looked at me for a response. I pulled out my Obi-Wan lightsaber and activated it and everyone started to freak out as we engaged in a battle until the teacher came out and broke it apart. None of this was planned. I still have my battle damaged saber. One of my favorite childhood memories. Thanks for letting me share.

Depends if it’s quite rare and worth a bit of money then maybe keep it sealed but that really only applies if you ever plan on selling it, if not then just open it up, I’ve never really liked collectors keeping things in boxes because the thing you’re buying is meant to be enjoyed and opened. If you keep it sealed you’re really just collecting the box. The only time I’ll say keep something sealed if it’s. Very rare and very valuable. Or you plan on selling it down the line. If not open it and enjoy it that’s what it’s therefore. But it’s your collection you can do whatever the hell you want with it. It’s just what I do with mine.

I had the luke one, and my brother had the darth vader one. We would beat the crap out of each other with them. Good times. The spring loaded aspect was so fun. After a while it wore out, but we still had fun with them

I have the Luke one you showed (in worse condition though dent/scratches). I used it a ton when I was younger and it still (mostly) extends and makes sounds when you swing. Also, I say keep it sealed cause it might be harder to find a good condition closed box since it was a while ago. Just my opinion though

i had one of these as a kid, normally i would say open it its supposed to be played with, but i remember the plastic on these feeling really cheap. i had plenty of fun with it as a kid but i feel like its not going to be satisfying to hold as an adult.

Keep this one sealed and find yourself a nice opened one! You can still review and display it, but because It's still sealed in a fairly good condition box, that might be worth a pretty penny in the (near) future, maybe already. Just in case you want to sell it someday, for some reason.

This can go one of two ways. You either leave it in the box, or very carefully open the box so as not to destroy any of the packaging so it can be stored and displayed in the box even after being opened. As it's the only one in your collection, I'd go with the second option. Open it, do a review on it, and then return it to it's box and display it in the box.
