I am so excited to share with you all that I closed on my first ever home and am officially a homeowner 🗝️ What a journey this has been! I’ve always aspired to become a homeowner and to see it all come to fruition I cannot help but continue to not only THANK GOD but give him all the honor, glory and praise. 🙏🏽 Let me tell you, the road has not been easy! I started my home buying journey back in 2020, unfortunately I was impacted and laid off from my employer who I had been supporting for almost 6 years. I was 4 months pregnant, unemployed and attempting to navigate a workforce that was overall impacted by the global pandemic. I started working for a new employer February 2021, but thankfully within the same industry. I used all of 2021 to focus on becoming a new first time mom, settling into this new organization and maintaining a healthy profile overall (savings, credit, eliminating debt, etc.). In January 2022 I created a vision board where I made my plan clear and made the decision that this would be the year I became a homeowner.
I searched and searched high and low, toured and toured and finally landed on this newly developed community that had not even started to be built yet at the end of January 2022. Thereafter, I found a builder who had everything I was seeking for my home AND MORE! I toured the model at a different community maybe 6 times and each time I fell more and more in love. 🤍 I knew it was the home for me. When I tell yall God has had my back this entire journey because the realtor at the builder was no longer able to sell any lots for the community due to decision made by the city for plethora of reasons and this was the LAST lot for this model that could be sold in that section. I didnt want any other home, this one was for ME! I’ve heard the horror stories of buying a home, the most recent hike in interest rates making it impossible for many to afford to buy in this market, deals falling through day before or day of closing, the tedious underwriting process, the amount of money it takes to close on a home and all types of mishaps. Was I scared, hell yeah! This entire year I’ve kept this journey a secret because let’s be real anything can/could happen and I didnt want outside negative energy or enemies to impact or destroy me or what I was aspiring to achieve even before I got started.
I went through the preapproval process on 1/11/2022
Approved on 1/13/2022
Purchased home on 1/29/2022
Home construction started 3/31/2022
Home closing delayed from 10/14/2022
Closed on home 12/8/2022
What’s meant to be will be and everything happens for a reason! Everything evolved and happened in God’s perfect timing! Extremely BLESSED 🤍
