I agree! Tuula Maria is wonderful! It was the first time I have seen C2C tutorial that looked easy. I've not been able to Master the C2C yet, but I think I could actually make a C2C with her tutorial.

Sometimes, it's just about finding the right teacher for the stitch pattern. Tuula does a fantastic job in the video for this shawl! I wont lie, as many C2C throws I've done, I still struggle the first time I do a decrease and have to look it up lol

I love Tuula Maria - she's such a lovely lady and has taught me so many tips and tricks. I wish youtube had a better built in community functionality - I hate having to visit elsewhere to get the full scoop. I've never been part of a ravelry group, and I'm attempting to cut down on my daily visits to FacePlace. Thank you for the advice about my not-so-matchy slippers; I made them the same size (despite the first one seeming too big) because I think the original version was sized so that they'd have to stretch to fit and I prefer a roomy slipper. And they look like they're meant to be identical (although they are clearly not because I was attempting to construct one around my right foot without bending my right, broken-kneecapped, knee). I may make some insoles for them to make them a little more snug and also to keep my feet off the cold floor. I'm not sending you an email about them despite it being a new skill because they look wonky. Regardless, I love love love Red Heart's Monet colorway - very impressionist colours and I made something wearable that I'm wearing pretty much daily. So, go me! Ugh on being fridgeless for over a week!

I'm so glad to hear you finished the slippers!! I have never seen the Monet colorway in person, but it's beautiful. A local botanical garden has recreated Monet's bridge and water lilies in person, it's gorgeous! I plan on visiting this year, maybe I'll make a field trip video!

How Lucas love the colours of the shawl, a Facebook group would be good where we can show you and other people our WIP and get ideas, help if needed, also doing beginner videos would be very helpful to people who are learning to crochet and the different stitches that we use, Good luck with your channel

Cotton is my favorite fiber to work with - I know it can be hard on the hands, but I found the Caron Cotton Cakes to be a perfect blend of cotton and acrylic that was very very easy to work with. Plus, I'm very happy with the stitch definition.

I love caked yarns. Easier to see the colorways. Skeins hide so many colors inside. Having fun watching your content. I love the idea of a Facebook group, I post most of my projects there and Instagram.

I agree about the caked yarns! I also think you've got a better chance of the cake holding together vs the skein, but that could just be how I crochet.

You’ve mentioned you have a lot of cotton yarn. You may like the free pattern called At your service knit cloth by Yarnspirations . I made mine a few inches longer than the pattern called for and they’re super cute!

With those cotton kings I put a pearl of some sort on the strand and that will keep the yarn together while i am working it. I have made shrugs and shawls out of it and also a skirt. Planing on a dress later this spring as well. that C2C scarf you made is STUNNING! Love it.

Loving "all the things" today! That shawl/scarf is great That black Friday cake looks like it may be a dahlia cake, I picked up some similar in the 2022 Halloween clearance. The important question is -- was your Hobbii candy present and unharmed??? 😅 I got you on the workplace situation -- we've lost 2 coworkers in the last several months. In September one of our nurses died, and last week one of our doctors passed away. Both times have been a trauma for our employees, and getting back to 'normal' is being a bear Take care, and have a better day. 🐞

Hey! 👋🏻 I made my daughter an Easter dress a few years ago out of the same colorway of the cotton cakes yarn. It is so great to work with! The dress had a little stretch so she wore it for about three years before she officially grew out of it.

I’m making a hexi cardigan in the sultan blue gradient and love how the colors change. I also to cakes of black fading into green. I wasn’t sure about using stranded yarn but am working through it now.

I would enjoy you starting a Facebook Private Page. I, too, write with my left hand and crochet with my right hand. I’ve been told that left handed people are more creative 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think we are more creative, but don't tell the right handers! If I did a Facebook page, there would be a short 'public' period for the first group of people to join easily and then I would lock it down for folks to be able to share gift projects without worry.

No matter what happens, KZbin will be the main source of all things Lucas :) I think the pressure comes with the way KZbin works - there's always another video lingering in the future and you have to have something to show for it. For some, it's a good motivator, for others it can be pretty difficult to keep up. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Azalea #6 is to die for. Would love a channel on Ravelry as I find there is less interference from other sources. Also, you have already done the work on it to create it so save some time & reuse what is existing

The Ravelry group is being rebranded and worked on... I spend so much time on Ravelry it just makes sense to add it into the mix. I'm still on the fence about Facebook, though.

I also wrote with my left hand but I do everything else with my right hand. Due to a stroke I have Neuropathy on my right side and need to learn to do things with my left hand. Fortunately I can still crochet with my right hand, just takes me a lot longer now lol

The only things I do with my right hand are crochet and use scissors and knives. If I have to i can use a can opener meant for right-handed folks as well. Everything else is the left :) I want to learn to crochet with my left hand to be able to switch back and forth to avoid hand fatigue/repetitive stress injuries.

I prefer Facebook. I have honestly never really used Ravelry. I prefer to watch KZbin as I am a visual learner when it comes to crochet and knitting(still working at it). I feel like Facebook is a more personal way to gather and discuss the podcasts and our WIPS. . Most times people are friendly and helpful.

Love the shawl! The colors are so pretty. Also, agreeing with another commenter who said not to feel rushed. I am Autistic/ADHD...I get distracted so easily. I can't force myself to do one thing if I don't necessarily feel like it or if I find another something I'd rather work on. Don't force it. It's fine. I'd be interested to hear your opinions on Tunisian with the Hobbii yarn...I didn't like it. I tried a standard Tunisian stitch with it and it just feels so flat with hardly any stitch definition because it's not plied. I switched to regular crochet and like it much more, but that could just be me! I really do love the colorways.

I have tried Tunisian... only just a couple of rows using a worsted weight cotton. I'm on the fence, but I'm not giving up yet. I'm a long ways away from using the Hobbii yarn I have with it. We'll see how it goes :)

What size hook did you use for your scarf?

The corner to corner scarf used a US 7 hook which is a 4.5mm hook
