Yes, history does not repeat, but it does rhyme. The problem seems to be when statements are made that seem reasonable- on the face of it. statements that seem factual- without any attempt to verify accuracy. We used to say that something did not pass the sniff test, now many walk past an abattoir and smell only fresh air. Critical thinking skills are needed now more than ever, lest society as a whole is hurt by lies and misinformation.

Yes! It seems he has as many atheists/non Christians who listen regularly as he does Christian listeners. Haven't really ever seen a preacher/pastor have such a diverse "flock" and as a pagan who often prays to "The Marys" and reads the Bible despite being a heathen, it feels like this is what Jesus would do - he'd be okay with people of other religions or of none, so long as they are doing their best to live in peace and fellowship with others 💜🩵

Donald has NEVER read a word of the bible. He famously went up to a pastor who after reading the gospel where Jesus teaches to "turn the other cheek"- Trump went up and asked "where did you get those LIBERAL talking points?" For real, this happened. The guy who can't shut the f up to literally save his life- when asked "what is your favorite bible quote?" He always replies, "it's private." Can't name one verse, even the shortest one: "Jesus wept." that phrase seems appropriate when it comes to the cult of Donald Trump. While I, as an evil atheist, am gleeful that this falphet got something else wrong, I doubt he will ever acknowledge this. He will probably double down on this and insist that God will make Jim Jordan speaker of the house. The other, less likely probability is that he will quietly ignore that his "prophecy" was wrong. This is how I have seen the Shane Vaughns, Hank Kunnemans, and Johnny Enlows react to their prophecies being wrong.

Walking around town you will eventually run into some poor people who are mentally ill spouting nonsense. When my kids were small, I told them to be respectful of the humanity of people down on their luck like that, but to not engage them in serious conversation. To be blunt, they are crazy. Nothing good will come out of a dialogue with them. Best to politely nod and keep walking. It is not a great feeling when you have to do that with the 'neighbourhood bum" but alarming when it is with a person of influence. (At least the crazies on the street have a genuine excuse and can be somewhat lovable at times.)

Good morning Reverend! As someone who's been transitioning from agnosticism to a strange combination of apatheism and Christian Modernism the last few years, I feel like part of my timeline of experiences does line up with your central concern here. Looking back at some of the content I watched 10 years ago, I frequented atheist content that usually focused against young earth creationism and the most fundamentalist out of touch takes from the most fundamentalist people they could find. The obvious parallel here is how this likely affected my perception on Christianity despite me already knowing that "not all Christians" were like that even at the time. What actually changed a lot of my perception was coming across a bible study group whose leader was once a staunch atheist while the group is still really good friends with a very outspoken apostate (who himself still attends the bible studies at times too). To this day, I currently attend this group learning more about the bible while I have since set a personal goal to follow Jesus as best as I can after enduring my own journey of loss, letting go of my pride, and finding true happiness through that. Interestingly, I still even watch more mild mannered atheist channels to this day as I feel that their value of epistemic humility (instead of simply "dunking" on fundamentalists) interestingly coincides much better with the "fear of God" than the standard fundamentalist views while their humanist philosophies feels more "Christlike" than those same fundamentalists. Anyway, I just felt like sharing and again wanted to thank you for what you do here.

I think there are a lot of people with big empty spaces inside them and are searching for something and sadly some people get caught up by false prophets and cults and cult-like groups. I think its important for these people to be seen. Folks actually bringing your message of love have nothing to fear fro these people. The need to be seen and shown for the evil that they are. They need to be seen so people looking for hope learn that they are not to be turned to but turned from. The media who talk about them should bring up these thingsand stop both sidesingbecaus there is no benefit in hate and fear. They need to be made example of as a warning.
