I am an OB nurse of 32 years. For the last 23 years I have worked PostPartum. 41 years old is pretty common to have a child. It's old school thinking that 41 is too old to have a child. As the mother of 7 children, I approve of this message. LOL, I too was not expecting this to happen again. I was 39. I already had 6 boys... I had to tell my teenagers and I felt just like you did with excitement but embarrassment. We did not tell my mom until my daughter was born. Hubs called my mom and said she had a granddaughter and she was so happy it was a girl that she didn't drone on about it being our 7th. I had been 9 years without any periods, so due to my medical history, it never crossed my mind or the doctors. Plus, there was no real bump. So little miracles do happen.
