'The Algorithm' has recommended quite a few of your videos to me, and they have all been fabulously entertaining. You have far far too few subs so consider me subscribed! And if I ever get the chance to play a Nakhmanson (spelling?!), I'll do it! Have you looked into the Jerome though?

I find it irritating that this should be the Von Henning Gambit. I mean the position after 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Bc4 Nf6 5.f3 exf3 6. Nxf3 is just the same as if you play 1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 exf3 5.Nxf3 c6 6. Bc4 and is known as the Ziegler Defence of the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit. No offense, I just wanted to point out that you may could find some interesting ideas for your game, if you study the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit theroy. Best, Jonny
@sergevanpuimontiv5074 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that it's called the Von Hennig Gambit when it's played via the Caro & Black doesn't take the gambit pawn, so this technically should be called the Ziegler Defence of the BDG...(?) Btw, is there any good up-to-date theory on the BDG? I've only got a book from the '90s which contains a crucial flaw in this variation.

A lot of the opening names at Lichess must be from some odd source generally not recognised in mainstream chess or maybe they're named after the first hit in the database...

I need to figure out how to get an text or email alert when you are playing so I can watch you.
The "Von Hennig" gambit is a fake name line many others on lichess as far as I know. This is a transposition to the Ziegler defense in the Blackmar-Diemer gambit. It will seem to be rough against strong players because it's common enough in blitz that every Caro player will have well-mapped lines for it.
