Hi Joel, this was so lovely! Annie is a wonderful lady, very knowledgeable about plants and very witty - her garden tour was really fascinating and her garden is absolutely gorgeous! I loved the magical ambience with the sound of the wind in the trees. I love white deadnettle too Annie, it just glows in the evening light of Spring; definitely should be grown more. Also, I've just had an idea, so hope it's ok to share - have you ever thought of starting a Wild Your Garden forum that we could all join to swap ideas and troubleshooting with each other? It would also be great to chat with some of your wonderful followers, as we all seem to be kindred spirits 🙂 - you never know, it might grow into an annual meetup! May the WYG Community always noodle with a different vision! 👍🦋

@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Love the garden tours! Slovenia looked amazing, really enjoyed the videos and shorts, beautiful country, reminded me of Britain years ago but on a much smaller scale. We've been watching the dragonfly nymphs hatching which was pretty amazing, love having a pond! Hope you're doing okay and the family all well!

Had a surprise start of the week... I discovered grass snakes in my garden. In the morning one sunbathing in a huge Ragworth. Never seen one before. Few hours later I heard a movement in the pond (big plastic container with lots of plants and cover). Saw a a frog feet... being dragged back into the water like in a horror movie. A bigger grass snake had caught it and ate it alive. Other frogs fled the scene in a panic. Did not see the snake leave the pond. But I saw another one a bit later on. Smaller one. Are those snakes from last year or this year?

@@Knit333 Wow! That's really spectacular to see, I've once seen one swallow a toad, get disturbed, regurgitate it and the toad make off, intact! Re the smaller one, it will likely be from last year as the babies are born around August time. Either way you should feel really privileged that they're in your garden, your definitely doing something right! Best wishes, Joel

In my region of the US, willows (Salix) support more caterpillars than any other genus. Not sure how they rank in the UK but they've got to be up there. Team Goat's willow 🐐👏👏👏!!!

Aww, that was so sweet, really beautiful garden as well! Vid suggestion Joel as I'm struggling. Maybe how you can incorporate permaculture elements into a wildlife garden, and have those two very different types of gardening living in tandem? Find it so difficult balancing this without birds and insects destroying some of the produce. Keep up the great work either way.

I could just see myself with a glass of elderflower cordial enjoying the sounds and views. What a lovely birthday surprise to have.
