SURPRISING difference between NACE MR0175 vs NACE MR0103 | (When to select WHAT)

MR0175 covers oilfield equipment and related facilities.
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 applies to harsh upstream exploration and
production operations .The NACE MR0103 is specific for downstream
refinery environments.MR0175 defines sulfur stress corrosion cracking resistant materials for oil and gas field equipment. It only applies to pipelines, equipment, and processing facilities where H2S is present.
NACE MR0175 and NACE MR0103 are global standards.
NACE MR0103 "Materials Resistant to Sulfide Stress Cracking in Corrosive Petroleum Refining Environments" was developed by Task Group 231 to provide a standard set of requirements for materials used in sour petroleum refinery equipment. In the past, NACE MR0175 , "Sulfide Stress Cracking Resistant Metallic Materials for Oilfield Equipment", was frequently referenced for this equipment, even though refinery applications were outside the scope of MR0175.

Question : Client Specified MR0175 , but vendor Provided MR013 . Can we use it, if its in On Shore process ( like Petrochemical Industries ) Called as Downstream process .

Some time the clients have old design basis which are not updated or engineers copy paste the same standard (MR0175-applicable for upstream ) for downstream datasheets. Please confirm whether client really needs MR0175 std compliance ? hope this helps
