Hi Asad " In this video you mentioned that P1 will drop it to below vapour pressure and then it will regain back to P2 pressure with some delta P from P1. Can you please explain on how one should identify that it is dropping to below vapour pressure and gaining back to P2 with some delta-P? How can a process designer calculate it? For example, In this video it can drop to 56 psig from 100 psig and gain back to 75 psig, hence no cavitation shall occur. Thanks

Sir can u tell where can I find content about the control valve designing , and calculation , I want to learn about this , please help
@AsadPassionateEngineer2 жыл бұрын
Fisher handbook on control valves can be quite helpful.... It is freely available online. Also will try my best in coming videos to cover this topic in detail 😊

Good video. What is multi stage trim? Also, what is the issue if you operate your control valves at 80% (dia 48") and service is water? Thanks.
@AsadPassionateEngineer2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, There isn't any issue however to have better controllability of control vale it is recommended to have the operating range of CV between 20 to 80 percent. Multi stage trim produces the pressure drop across the valve in a staged manner and could be one of the solution for cavitation problems. Hope this helps ! 😊

Hi Asad, really appreciate your informative videos. Do you have one that explains how to calculate the safe valve opening percentage to prevent or minimize cavitation's impact on the valve?

The Process Engineer usually provide this value in their IPDS (Instrument Process Datasheet)

How to know the vapour pressure inside a running control valve to calculate cavitation index

Delta p increases will decrease the flow..pls recheck
@AsadPassionateEngineer2 жыл бұрын
If we increase the Delta P across the Valve . i.e Increase the value of P1-P2 . The flow will increase . You can ask any valve expert 😊 If you have any other understanding then please share !!!
