In Argentina, we generally have lunch between 1200 and 1430 hours and have dinner between 2000 and 2300, during those times you can find the restaurant kitchens in operation. In large cities, such as Buenos Aires, Rosario, Cordoba, etc., you can find food places, generally selling meals, with longer hours.

Yay Argentina! I'm from Patagonia. I miss it. Note: Most Germans arrived in LATAM during the industrial revolution. And it's true that after WWII many naz1s escaped there too, not just Argentina but also Chile, Brazil, Peru, etc. The most famous ones were also hunted down with the help of some locals and taken to The Hague, others less know lived hidden/assimilated to LATAM. But this wasnt a LATAM thing only, USA actually sponsored and gave immunity to many naz1s, check operation paperclip, among others. Anyway, after all of that, enjoy your travels! lol

German immigration to Argentina and specifically to Patagónia started way before Hitler took power. Some nazis went to Patagónia but the most dangerous and the ones with more hierarchy were secretly received in the USA under the name "Operation Paperclip" which gave them a new identity and gave them work in government agencies or those linked to the government such as universities and research centers, with NASA being one of the most successful results of this operation, since without Nazis like Werner von Braun at the helm they would not have been able to develop the rockets that allowed the start of the space race. In fact, if you look at the technicians who were controlling the project in Houston during the moon landing, you will find at least a dozen Nazis.

I'm sorry you chose empanadas from Costumbres Argentinas. There are three categories of empanadas: industrial/chain food shops, which usually are acceptable but never are the best, independent empanada shops and home cooked and prepared empanadas. The former are made in a central place and sent frozen to the different branches to be cooked in the oven. Another thing you may need to know is that most empanadas are baked in the oven, but the best ones are fried. Those of beef and fried are extremely juicy, so be careful when hoy give the first bite, because they may "explode". And last, usually the beef empanadas are made with minced meat, but there is a variety called "meat cut with knife" ("carne cortada a cuchillo") where the meat is cut in small dices. Dulce de leche is not caramel, because is made with milk and sugar. "Caremelo" in spanish means sweet, but when is referred to covering something is made with sugar and water only. At Buenos Aires you do have some shops that offer mate (no to be confused with "cooked" mate ("Mate cocido") which is like tea in a bag but using the yerba mate instead of tea leaves. In those shops you ask for a mate and they will bring some kind of the mate cups and a thermos with the hot water (never boiled or boiling water).

5:03 Uruguayan comedian Carlos Perciavalle said in several television interviews that in the '60s he went to Bariloche with the also famous Uruguayan actress, the late and beloved China Zorrilla, that they were invited to a huge wooden hotel. When they arrived at a large hall they froze and immediately fled because they recognized Eva Braun and next to her an old man with gray hair, semi-bald, without facial hair, who looked like Hitler himself. He did not hesitate because he said that he was like a true follower of Braun, that undoubtfully she was her. They left the town as if they had seen the devil himself. The fact is that the actor also confessed that he used to be addicted to cocaine, that he saw UFOs around his beautiful house next to a lagoon and that he also had telepathy with extraterrestrial beings. Facts not necesarily overlapped in time. Anyway, believe it or burst like we use to say here.
