During the 1970s Wells was said to have more council housing per head of population than anywhere in England. Today it is almost impossible for locals to buy or even rent a home in Wells. The social cleansing of Norfolk's small towns and villages is shameful. Still a nice place to holiday.

Yes, I remember during our first visits to Wells in the 70's it certainly wasn't the thriving, affluent town it is today and that's for all of the reasons you mention in your comment. I do agree, it's wrong that local people, born and bread in a place cannot make it a forever home for themselves. We stayed a few times at Pinewoods. Years ago when the tourers used to be in with the statics. Then a few times when the new touring site was constructed. Do you think the site fees are a tad expensive?

Hi Barbs, lovely site and of course we love Wells but would tend to agree it is a tad expensive but there isn't a lot of choice if you want to be close to Wells. I love your channel. I live in Florida and just visited North Norfolk for the first time at the end of May. Rented a cottage in Snettisham and drove all over. I bought two AA road maps in Fakenham for £5 each so £4 was a deal. My previous one was from 2006 and was falling apart and I paid £1.99 back in the day. The road map is great for planning holidays and I bring with me when I come over - you just never know if the tech will fail. Keep the videos coming!!

We have just been to Cornwall and Devon and we have the same canopy as you, 2 of the straps had ripped off in the wind, we took it to a sail repair place in Plymouth and they repaired it for us whilst we waited and only charged £10. Made it much stronger. The wind and rain was relentless for our trip unfortunately. We’ve stayed at Seacroft in Cromer but never been to pinewood but will look into it, looks like a nice site.

We also use a Kampa canopy with sides as our first choice shelter. I’ve just added a set of Isabella storm straps to replace the Kampa provided straps. Much bigger, longer pegs and easy to adjust straps. Used aluminium climbing carabiners to attach a to the actual awning. What sort of pegs did you use on your sides?

We have booked to go to Holkham Hall (5 minutes away) which has a pop up camp site, it opened on 12th July but you have to be a member of the caravan and Motorhome Club to use it.
